Indeed. I was hoping somebody with Photoshop and skills might take a crack at something similar on an RX-8..
It will not be me, as my artistic skills are virtually nil..

I was just thinking that the RX-8, with all the curves, and that V shape on the hood, would be a natural for something along these lines..

I can picture it in my mond, but can not execute it..

I stumbled into this thread by chance... but - poles, (wooden), are generally planted about four feet in the ground. I have seen a number of poles that have suffered impacts from various vehicles at various speeds. It all really depends on the age of the pole, the angle of impact, speed, etc. As to whether or not it breaks off. I don't have any pix of the last incident that I had to investigate, I wish I did. It was amazing to see that the guy walked away after an approximate 100 MPH head-on impact with not only a pole, but a large equipment cabinet. According to witnesses, right after he hit, he got out of what was left of his truck, walking away from it - sobbing. The police caught up to him a half-mile away from the scene.
He's currently serving his time in the state pen... (2nd DUI in two years).

Here's a guy who totally did the deed in an Audi:

Pretty impressive. He dented the rear bumper badly AFTER the car was split in two!

For you who think that a human can't walk away from a crash that tears the car in two, and you who thinks it must be staged because the tree was not snapped in two, and to you who thinks the human body can withstand 1000g............
I have seen people survive an apparently unsurvivable crash, not survive a minor crash that did not even break a bone or cut the skin. And I have reviewed the human g tolerance. It is incredible how many g a human can tolerate when applied to them, but 1000g will kill a human. 100g will kill a human pretty much every time. I am talking about deceleration injury where g is how fast the body slows down.
The month after Princess Diana died in a car crash I had to see a car crash injury in the ER. A drunk on Sunday morning crashed into trees lining the road. He was brought from the scene just 2 miles from the hospital and I saw him less than fifteen minutes from the crash. He had a torn pulmonary artery, same as Diana, but was a 65 year old drunk. Well I saved him that day and he stayed in the hospital nearly a month and died in rehab from a heart attack a week after discharge. Go figure.

First of all most of the properties of evolution stop functioning when a species begins to manipulate its environment.

Second there was some report about an accident that was sort of similar out in the midwest in the US. There was a guy in a Jeep who crashed into something without his seatbelt on. He went flying through the cloth top but managed to catch himself on a power line! Yes a power line. I don't have any pics, just remember seeing it on the news.
