Excellent full 3d rotary sim mov

I found this last night and thought it was an excellent simulation of both chambers of the engine complete with exploding views showing the different cycles and individual componets in motion.

I had posted this in the lounge in an older "Rotary Gif" thread but thought it was worth putting in here as it's not really a gif but a cool little movie.

Well worth the download.

Full Animation (5mb)

Thanks for posting it! They are pretty technical about this 3D simulator, down to the slight delay of firing the leading and trailing spark plugs.

Looks like it is missing the waste spark, that is present in the animation at rotaryengineillustrated.com... or does the Renesis not have waste sparks?

Renesis doesnt use wasted spark but at idle the trailing fire before the leading.

Damn... A three year repost

I wonder how long it takes to create something like that. I work with Autocad all day at work but nothing that complex - only land/boundary surveys that are much more boring.

That free animation program looks crazy. I'll have to tinker around with it.

after 3 years its really not a repost

anim8or is great!! get it and try some of the tutorials like th ebird walking and the hand etc. those really help. after making those (the bird took a few tries to get right- especially making sure the parts of the feather stayed together and on the bird)

i made a crude block shape space ship then i did a scene with it mimicking star wars ship flies into the camera view with camera forward and starboard of the ship. ship does a small turn and wiggle then comes along side of camera then past- camera pulls back, over and behind ship as it flies away. it was really cool and impessed the hell out of the wife

hehe im inspired now- gotta start playign with anim8or again

We'll try to keep the flaming to a minimum.
