I bought some stuff and it didn't cost an arm and leg. I don't remember what it cost me but it was only a few bucks.
I'll take a picture of the bottle tomorrow and post it.

Yeah, just did mine yesterday, no more rust! Silver calipers and wheel hubs on all four tires. I also noticed that I was missing a lug nut on my front right tire! 1k miles ago when the 8 was in for service the Mazda tech was beggin me to let them rotate the tires for an extra 15 bucks and I finally said fine, well, not next time! I was going to start a new thread and post my 4 pics but don't have an image hosting site to do that on.

To get that nasty rust off I had to use a drill and a wire brush attachment. I tried using a wire brush with the handle that you do by yourself and I was almost dead after 20 minutes of scrubbing. But yeah, the drill makes it work very quick and very easy too.

I went to the Mazda Dealer the other day to complain about my rotors rusting. He said that their is nothing they can do and that all Mazdas do the same thing. He said that he use to offer to repaint them for his customers, but found it to be a waste of time because they would just come back complaining that they were rusting again. He claims they rust because of the temperature variance in the brakes but IDK. Sounds like he was BSing me the whole time to keep me from having them paint my rotors. Before i left the dealer i went to check out the new '06 RX-8's that had come in....i was shocked to see that that not only are the rotors covered with some kind of black plastic cap to hide/prevent rust, but the calipers come painted a flashy silver from the factory now. It appears that rusty rotors & calipers was a big issue for Mazda and they finally decided to do something about it. I wonder if i can get these new rotors?

only if you pay for them. If you're gonna buy new ones, just buy after market ones that are painted red/gold/yellow or whatever
