FC vs FD

The FC was the absolute worst looking RX-7, by far. Blatant rip off of 924/944/968 styling.
The 1st and 3rd gens were original and beautiful, and ahead of their times. Even if the first gen looks dated now, compare it to any other car from 1979 and it looks so much newer and modern.

I'd also go so far as to say Nissan and Toyota had pseudo modern looking sports cars around the same time as the FB.
This car was made in 1979:
as was this one:
I think the Rx7 was pretty far ahead styling wise on the Supra, but not so much with the 280z. Then again, here's a vette from that time, and it looks pretty futuristic/modern to me as well.
I love both cars, I just have more appreciation for the FC and older cars for that matter

[QUOTE=canaryrx8;2797752]Since it was made to compete with those particualr models, I wouldn't call it a ripoff, calling it the absolute worst looking is a bit harsh I think. Besides, you could make the case the FD was trying to rip off the corvette if you really wanted to go there, but that would be just as ridiculous as saying the Fc is ripping off Porsche.
I'd also go so far as to say Nissan and Toyota had pseudo modern looking sports cars around the same time as the FB.

Totally agree with your post , and that a very nice 280z, but that car was not made in 1979.
In 1979 Nissan (aka Datsun) came out with the 280zx which is this car. Trust me i would know because that was my first car when i got my drivers license.
This is a 1979 280zx

FD's curves, definitely. Loved it the first time I saw it.
FC's too angular (Dodge-ish) for my taste.

for the money, and my money, i'd probably get an fc. i used to own an fd. it was pretty damn sweet, but it can easily be a money pit. fc's are just so cheap, and the n/a ones are nearly bulletproof. you can have so much fun w/ an fc for less $, and you won't feel (as) bad beating it up

RE Super G FC or FD FTMFW!!!!!

An FD with nice wheels, mild drop and subtle body kit has an appearance that is unmatched IMO. The R8 and the 8C follow close behind but the FD gets my top vote for its simplistic, timeless flow.
....so yea I say FD over the FC
