That is just sick. So OK I have never tuned or owned another rotary so help me understand the porting. Is that Overlap where the intake and exhaust stroke are happening at the same time? Or is it just enlarging the size of the port itself? I have had my car forever but aside from very minor things like intake,exhaust,kit and suspension I have yet to toy with anything related to the mechanical side of the engine.
I am so embarrassed now... I was a closet rotary dummy up to this point.

im glad this thread made you come out the closet.hahaha there are a few threads about porting but for some dumb reason, I never looked into it..

Does anyone know if someone has ever bridge or street ported a Renesis? I'm really thinking about doing it, I have a mechanic buddy that street ported his FD in his house garage!

I dont think that was a ported Renesis. Are you sure?!!
Guitarjunkie (God bless um) ported someone elses and it sounded almost like stock. Very little change in exhaust note. Ofcourse he only did the intake side I believe...

Show me a video clip of a rx8 that sounds similar to that. I even have a single outlet exhaust and after I let off throttle you could almost here the lope but not like that. Easily a ported motor. Even if I had a high flow cat with my single outlet, it wouldn't sound like that.

Thats not what I mean...I know what a ported rotary sounds like.
What I meant to imply is that they did an engine swap and put a non Renesis 13B in the Rx8.

I was meaning to ask if anyone has or knows someone who has a template for the porting itself? I'm calling up Rotorsports tomorrow to see if they have ported a Renesis', hopefully they have and I can just buy the template from them.
