Finally, pics of my 8 - In a famous place ;)
I finally got some pics of my Titanium Grey 8!
These first 2 pics are approximately the angle that I first saw an RX-8 at the dealership. My first impression was that the front end was massive looking (because of the extended fenders). It was love at first sight, and the honeymoon continues.
I'll address the "fame" of this place in the next post...

Here's a reverse-angle pic (such a sweet machine). The bridge in the background is the world "famous" Lake Accotink Park railroad trestle. It's fame is due to:
1) The original wooden trestle was burned during a raid by Confederate Cavalry during the Civil War, later rebuilt (and better guarded) by the Union.
2) It's also the structure used by the 1997 Darwin Awards Runner-Up (Bungee Jumper). He used a homemade bungee arrangement in jumping off the trestle, but failed to account for the fact that bungee cords stretch. http://www.darwinawards.com/darwin/darwin1997-05.html

I was actually thinking the famous place was like the Lincoln memorial but nice pics.

Actually I was thinking more of trying to do a nighttime pic, from across the Potomac, city lights reflecting off the water, with one or more recognizable monuments in the background.
Hmmm . . . Maybe I should take a drive downtown and take some 8 pics with interesting backgrounds; the Capitol, Washington/Lincoln/Jefferson monuments, White House (if I can get close enough), Air & Space Museum, Museum of Science & Technology, the entrance to CIA headquarters, the police carting me away after taking pics of the entrance to CIA headquarters. . .
