The wierdness of HDR, is when the tonal maps are so overdone, that everything looks like a melted neon crayon drawing. This technique is often done by us 'car guys' and has been made famous (or infamous) by the automotive community.
Here are some over the top, but well done, non-automotive HDR shots if you are interested...He used Photomatix to good effect. (BTW, I also posted in this thread, as you will see an RX-8
But I only have PSP X2 which only has a basic HDR function.)
