here's another car fire:

After watching how ineffective the fire extiguishers were, I wonder if it would make any more sense to just have a giant half dome shaped metal container you could drop over a burning car to smother it.

As Dave Coleman from SCC once wrote, putting a stainless steel heat shield on your bumper to prevent a bumper fire is rice. Putting a stainless steel heat shield on your bumper to prevent another bumper fire is not rice.
I'll have to ask him if this means we're all allowed to do that now. New BHR product?

Perhaps they are not missing.
Perhaps they are a molten blob at that stage. Have heard the rear doors are aluminium & if thats true, doesn't aluminium have a lower melting point than steel.....??
Amazing how well modern day cars burn with all their plastics
Reality says this RX-8 may be stolen & the theives wanted to torch the evidence.......

Oh shoot! I think the whole fire started inside of the car! I think it was burning for couple of minutes.

excuse my ignorance but how is it possible for the fire to be at the rear end of the car? generally i though when most cars catch fire its from the engine bay...
no smart *** comments im actually curious to know what technical possibilities could have caused this?
