Google Maps Photo shoot!
So, I got a phone call this morning regarding google maps and my car. I guess they did a photo shoot of my 8 after I was done washing it.
It's a damn old picture because I still have my stockers on the 8.
See if you can find your car on street view.
gogogogogo!

that is street view, an option inside of google map.
Here's my car from google maps. I won't have any from street view cause my car is never parked outside where google's street vehicle would drive by.

The satellites must show up because I hit the 'Satellite' button in google maps.
Also I'm not alone. There's a black M3 next to my car.
I like parking there. There are a dozen video cameras watching the dishes, so there is 24/7 recording of anyone who walks by or even looks at my car.

My neighborhood is too l33T. This is the closest you can get.
Still 3 miles away.
The rez of the pics has gotten a sh*t-ton better.
My house is still lo-rez, though. (They are a few years old, it seems.)

hmmm...my garage was closed, so I can't see my car...you can zoom right in on my windows though! I wish I knew when they were coming to my street...I'd have left my car out and mooned them from my window.

It is odd tho, I don't know when they took pictures of my street because
1. It was when I had my car, I bought it June of 2007.
2. My brother's car which was in the process of returning to stock during that summer was not in my driveway(Where did it go?) And the only time it was driving when my house had an American Flag had to be in June.

make sure you are looking at street view and not map view. They are completely different. The overhead maps can be several years old. Street view is relatively recent.

^why? The technology (Eyes in the sky, etc.) has been around a very long time, just not available for the public to see.
Google Street views take a very long time to produce. I'm waiting for them to come to Cape Cod someday. Although you'll most likely never see my car because 90% of the year it's in my garage. I work from home.
