Greddy Turbo 8 at dragstrip
I went to San Antonio Raceway this weekend to see what I was running now with the Greddy turbo/Interceptor X installed.
Got a 13.65sec at 103.54mph.
Dragstrip video (click here)
My reaction time was pretty bad (1.3sec). I was trying to concentrate on my rpms during launch and didn't really look at the tree. My previous best was 13.9 at 98.3mph (6psi/3psi holding). Notice the 5mph higher trap speed than before. You can compare the 2 runs here.
I couldn't get traction in 1st with the boost set at 10psi, so I used the stock 6-7psi to launch and then switched the E-01 to "overtake boost" which is set to 10psi for the rest of the gears. But, since the boost drops off at high rpms, I'd only be at 9 or 8psi for a second then drop down to 7psi. (See E-01 screenshot, boost peaks for a bit then drops, AFR's is the bottom line.) AFR's were around 11.5-12.0 for WOT. No problems detonating or backfiring.
A few members have had success keeping the boost a few psi higher at high rpms using the rpm offset feature on the E-01. I'll be hooking the RPM wire to it next and experimenting with that.
I'm also planning on getting the turboxs exhaust system later to see if that helps with backpressure/exhaust flow. HP gains look to be better than the rest, plus 3in piping and dual mufflers instead of 1 like my current borla.
If the high rpm boost and new exhaust don't break into the 12's, I may look into PTP's turbo.
The Cobra next to me is my roommate. The 12.3sec run was his best time yet and he's on street tires! Mods include smaller pulley, x-pipe, and intake. That thing is a beast.
Autox'ing starts in Feb, should be more fun since that's what this car was built for.

It actually sounds like you did significantly better. 5mph high trap, with shitty launch and traction, and you still pulled off 0.3 on your times. Once you nail the launch, get better traction, suspension set up or tires, you should be in the low 13s. Great job Adrian!

I just posted my dyno runs from today in this thread. Also got it on video. ENJOY.
I doubt I can stiffen the suspension anymore. I already have MS springs/shock, sway bars, strut bars.
I'm using Falken RT-615's which are nice autox'ing tires. The only ones better would be slicks, which I won't be getting.

I didn't have any problems with 2nd gear since I was careful(probably could have shifted faster into 2nd). Although I did have some grinding issues going into 4th. Not really jamming, just not going in smoothly.
A rebuilt transmission may be one of my mods next year.

Have you/will you try launching in 2nd?
I know its major clutch abuse, but you lose time on the 1-2 shift and 1st is just about useless with the turbo.
Once I get my 8 tuned, I might go for a numerically lower rear axle ratio for that reason & to get better freeway gas mileage.

I think he mentioned when he got it he was running a 245 width and the wheel is 17x8.0. If he went 8.5 he could have fitted some wider 255 width tires.

adrian-1....great job, it's been great watching you improve your car and times...wow, 13.6 and according to you all (since I've never been to a track) there is alot of room for improvement.
Wow...thanks for sharing, I'll have to watch the vid at home (I can't wait) but 13.6 without a good take off...wow...just wow. Thanks...good job!
Now...to figure out (for me) how to get into the 13's...NA....hmmmmmm...lol

Nevermind how brutal Slicks can be on drive-components. Stay away from that much traction until you are sure the axles can handle it.
