He lives.....

Hey guys.. This is an old video but I never knew that there was a second part. It blew me away that he lived through the crash so I wanted to post it up.

Check out these two videos.. There seemed to be a lot of talk about this guy dying.. but he didnt.

Part 1:
http://videos.streetfire.net/Player....1200858D60&p=0

Part 2:
http://videos.streetfire.net/Player....6AFD021FC0&p=0

Maybe I am just behind the times and everyone knows this.. but it surprised me.

I heard something like he had 3rd degree burns over most of his body and they had to end up amputating most of both arms due to infection.... I could be wrong though.

that's just insane, hard to believe he lived through that even when you see him moving...
ps: street fire occasionally has the run time error show up, just gotta go back later or refresh a couple of times

Dam took medical attention forever it get there, and when they got there they just laid him down and dragged him to the bus.

Btw the driver sued the track and won 750k us on a settlement. Most of his burns was actually on his face his helmet burn most of his nose and chin area off. Pretty scary ****.

Terrible wreck but I think its a testement (<sp?) to the good engineering of race cars that he was able to stand up at least. His got car popped pretty hard.

What happened to the poor guy waving the warning flags on the bridge!

That fireball happened right below him.

The safety work was a little questionable. They let the guy flop around like a fish out of water for 20 seconds or so, and then throw him into a van like a sack of potatoes.

No one came to help. No one came to put the fire out. It's like they just assumed he was dead. That freakin sucks.

I don't know what racing series that is in Japan, but there are two things that could've prevented a lot of the damage to the driver. There should have been an on-board fire extinguisher system that the driver can activate with a button that would spray the inside of the car. Another thing was the track officials looked like they have no safety training whatsoever and response time was beyond miserable.
