You compare an 8 to the pics you just posted? On the track I can see it, not on the road. Also, I wasn't putting him down. He wanted opinions or he wouldn't have started the thread. I still feel that when he puts that much effort into making it look like a fast and furious car he is setting himself up for even more ridicule when he can't keep up when people actually want to put him to the test. I always remind myself to each his own. I am proud of your son just as I am my 19 years and counting in the armed forces.

I'm not a big wing or race look person myself; I even think the MS wing is too much. But, damn, that's a great looking car! Your kit balances well: wing & hood front to rear, wing & body kit top & bottom. the wheels look great and the painted lugs and brakes are nice details. Sweet car.

Bmcc,
I think you have been watching too much FF. Its understandable that people might mess with him on the road but it doesn't mean he is gonna race them or race them and lose. I don't race on the streets. I would rather see you at the track as far as my preferences go. The basis of this whole Import car scene is because people like yourself and I couldn't afford the high end cars like in those photos posted so we work with what he have to try and make them look as sweet and perform as close to those cars. I don't think he realized that he was gonna get so many hater posts but I knew it and I am sure most others did as well. It takes time to build a vehicle into what you imagine and starting off it usually does look crappy. I can look back when I was younger and my first car looked like crap when I started. I can look back and laugh though. What if you pulled up next to a car that just started modding his exterior and you tried to race him not knowing that the guy has tons of money in his engine and smokes you. Then you would get laughed at for getting smoked by a car that some people think is ugly.

Can't we all just get along?

considering the companies are all sponsors on the vehicle meaning free product for endorsement I am sure you might throw on some decals too if you were offered free products. Or maybe you would say hell no to free stuff.

Anyways to answer your statement yeah it will when we are done with it.

Do you mean the silver graphics I had on the car in my avatar or the logos I now have on the car. You can get these type of logos at most decal/sign shops that do vehicle graphics. At first when I read your quote I thought you were playing around. :D

Far as I am concerned the wing looks fine, the car does need a kit to balance it out. What I think is stupid looking are the 2 wheel drive trucks I see daily with lift kits, 15" rims with super swamper tires, roll bars and brush gaurds. To each his own.

Don't hate the guy for being creative and brave enough to stand out in a crowd, and still post his pics at the rx8club, where I am sure he already knows majority hates 2F2F looking rides.

Hell, the Mona Lisa looks like ****, but it is still a work of art.

I don't think the majority are hating on him. Just giving an opinion. But that wing is definitely not a piece of art.

....I say to each his own. If I pulled up to a client in that, it would be hard to be taken serious. But, that me, and my life now.
But...back in the day..."my hay-days", My shoes would ALWAYS look new if that was my ride, because, my feet would have never touched the ground, and no matter what any hater said, I would Know my ride was tight.

So......Drift8....."Play That Funky Music", or "All Eyes On Me"....2pac...for those uninspired soles

For my stance on car sponsorship, see this thread...

sponsership can be nasty...get a lawyer

someone said it here already....you do these outrageous (ie your wing) mods to a civic...you can't afford a sports car so you try to make the civic (or other similar car) look like one

doing outrageous wings and such on the RX-8 destroys its lines...and destroys its class

respect the 8's styling...it is the best out there

I checked out the sponsorship thread you are a part of and from your answer on there it is obvious that you have only heard what goes on and haven't experienced working with legit companies directly.
You don't become their "whipping boy"and your car doesn't become partly theirs. Most companies offer you their parts for free in return for a few of their logos on you car for marketing purposes. Its like any business deal, you get paid as long as you do the work.
Some companies don't require you to sign a contract but some do and usually in that contract it only states that you will run their that companies logo in return for either magazine exposure or car shows. Usually there is not a set number of car shows but if you really want a sponsorship then you probably are already entering shows anyways so it doesn't really matter.
A lot of companies set up these contracts because there are a lot of people that screw them over after they get the parts and then take off and not contact that company any longer. With a contract that company can hold the person responsible and make them pay the retail price if they are not following through on their side of the deal.
All in all, some companies are strict and others aren't it just depends on the company and if you can show them that you aren't going to screw them over then they are pretty lenient on sponsorships.
Don't knock sponsorships because a lot of people that can't afford parts use sponsorships to get the parts free or at a discount.

Dude, they came from his sponsors. He didn't just go to a store and buy them. I would imagine that on a lot of products (correct me if I'm wrong) you either get a decal/sticker in the box, or you can request one when you order. I used to mountain bike a lot, and that's how things worked for most companies.

Yo pilot, you can go to almost any sign shop, give 'em a logo, pay like 4 bucks and they'll make your logos out of vinyl. Stick 'em on your car or anywhere. Just make sure whatever you put on there is actually on your car. Dont be that guy that has all these stickers of **** on his car he wishes he had. That's extreme rice. Seen it too many times. It's just sad really.

Oh yeah, if your 8 ends up looking like this BMW, we will find you and... nevermind. :D

Yeah, if you really need to add stickers, make sure it's for products you own. Putting stickers for stuff you don't own on your car is like showing people pictures of a model and saying she's your girlfriend - kinda lame.

Er, did that BMW graft on some APC Civic tail lights?
