HIN in Phoenix SUCKS
I WILL NEVER GO TO /SHOW IN A "HOT IMPORT NIGHTS" EVENT EVER AGAIN!
The whole thing was a fiasco, I have never seen such a mess of operations in my life. We waited in line (15 cars) as VIP guests from 9:00am Saturday till after 12:00pm and then they sent someone out to tell us there is no more room in the venue for us. This event was sponsered by MAZDA and they were not going to let the Mazda cars in. We had a spot next to the stage lined up for all our vehicles. We had a Mazda Dealer (Avondale Mazda) that brought the new Mazdaspeed3 and Mazdaspeed 6 To show with us.
Well after bitching at them and asking to speak to someone in charge they finally got a round to getting someone on the phone/radio.
We sent a delegation to meet with this person and see if they could straighten this whole mess out.
Well after about 20/30 minutes they came back and said we could show right behind the main ticket booth and before the main gate entrance, in the gravel and dust.
And did I say OUTSIDE the fenced in show/competition area. We were left outside in the dirt and dust. Later as the people started showing up the lower parking lot got full so they started parking the show goers in the parking lot behind us. Well in order for them to get to the parking lot behind us they have to drive by right in front of us on the gravel. Well what happens when you get a 1000+ cars driving on a gravel road 20 feet in front of you for 6 hours? HELLA DUST.
Well here are a couple of pics I took between dusting my car and choking on dust.

Dont' worry about.. HIN is not a real car show anyway, more like a melting pot for fanbois and wannabe import *****. thats all. I've been to the very first HIN back in the mid 90's and to a few after..I will never go back again.

I went to the one at the LA convention center once, and I will never go to another one again. It was so BS. It was so dark inside, you can't even see the cars, and all the girls there were about 300 guys around. Not to mention all the cars outside getting ticketed by the cops. They were just sitting there swarming the place. Absolute joke. First & last time I ever go to an HIN.

they have gotten much worse over the years....and dont feel bad cuz almost the same thing happened to me and kel this year at HIN NYC.....it was quite rediculous and zero coordination.....the cars are also getting much weaker in looks and function....so sad because this show used to be the mecca!!

it's getting really hard to find decently run shows nowadays, sure miss my old mini-truckin' days where clubs would host them and they weren't all about money/corporate etc. If I had the time and resources I'd put together one for all the people who feel like I do, people who are tired of seeing more vendors than participants, more ***** than cars etc. Who knows, maybe one day I'll do that

After Saturday I have so much more respect for the AZMC. As a group you came together and we did what we could since all of us had made plans for several months for HIN Phoenix. I even put HIN ad in the Avondale Mazda Print ads and even had the HIN banners on the Avondale Mazda website and helped with Volunteers. I even put some our own employees to help on Saturday thinking it would help us with moving cars in faster. What a Shame. What a waste to have the Mazda Speed 3 that will be showing in SEMA not to be shown at all. What can I say that it drives real nice. Xavier

Well add phoenix to the list. Seems like HIN has been a disaster in every city its been too this year. I dont know what theyre doing differently, but it just seems to be a mess.
I think its coming here to Hawaii in a month or so. I'll report on how it goes. I'm not expecting much, so whatever it is should be ok.
