Hurricane Gustav accident

So, we had just entered Louisiana(coming back from evacuating for Hurricane Gustav) and were on some two-lane highway outside of Ferriday, LA., when all of a sudden I see a deer, we think a male because of its size(they don't have antlers this time of year), on the side of the road, and I knew it was going to be stupid. So, I hit my wonderful stock mazda brakes and was only impacted by the deer on the side of the car and not the complete front. I thank God and Mazda, for my life. If my step-dad who was driving in front of me had'nt slowed down when he saw it I might not have seen it and hit it head on. Luckily everyone was okay except for my car. We looked for the deer but could not find it. The last thing I saw of that sucker was his hooves. He left behind a few drops of blood some hair, and a one-eyed 8. Here are the pics:

How much do think this is going to be, its obvious i need a fender, front bumper and new headlight assembly? Is it possible for me to get the mazdaspeed front from my insurance, and how much extra would that be over a stock one?

My car made a perfectly good run for the 1000mile+ trip from Lafayette, LA, to Nashville, TN. Tire pressure was checked twice, oil was administered as needed(5w20 Royal Purple). It was a blast driving it! I love my car!

well the head light without the brackets is only like $995.00 each if you have the projector lights as i would assume you do. and i doubt the insurance company wants to upgrade the look of the bumper they most likely will get u a new fender and a oem replacement bumper unless they just cut you the check you can add to it and have the work done when and where you want.

ouch, sorry to hear about that! Glad it wasn't any worse though....

As for upgrading to the MS, what you CAN do is get a quote from your body shop and ask them if they will order the MS instead. You then just pay the difference and you're good to go.

Here's what you do...Take the insurance money...Buy a headlight off a parts car..Buy the MS front, and try to buy the fender off a parts car as well..If you cant find a fender..just get one from Mazda. And you don't need a shop for any of it, It can all be installed in less than an hour..

Yea just take look for Parting cars... My Advice if your tryna save money is Patience...i mean other than the headlight your prolly gonna have to fix that asap...but i know with me when i got to an accident i felt like fixing my car asap to how F'd up it was with fender and bumper...lucky for me I didnt feel like spending money..and i probaly didnt have enough to get it fixed anyway...patience really helpd me out...Just bought a fender of a forum member for 200 dollars..pretty good with what i was faced earlier...and my bumper was fixed by my dealer because they f'd me over but yea..other than the headlight...sacrafice of having your fender fuckd up....and patience will really pay off in the long run...i bet you will find a fender sooner or later..Sorry for the essay =) i was bored
