Nice yellow Berni! I see you also have a MS MX-5. Nice cars! I have a black 8 and a 99 10th Anniversary Edition Miata. Gotta take some pics of them together and post them up

Interesting pics, they show how much bigger than the Miata the the RX-8 really is. And they give a good impression how yellow combines with the sunroof (pretty good obviously).

Yeah the big white truck pulled up really close ...then she said she forgot my wife's car was there.... she then started to pull forward (I suppose to get too close to my 8 ) anyway the lady truck driver began to push my wife's MX-5 at my 8 ...i know it is too late for horror stories. anyway almost at the same time my wife and I started honking at the truck and it stopped before anyone got an A$$ kicking.

yeah size difference the miata sit really low when i get out of the 8 after some time with the MX-5 it feels like i am getting out of a truck. (i hope i explained that right)
one more time the 8 seating position sits higher than the MX-5 very noticible.
oh yeah (it is late so i am rambling) once back in the 8 the interior feel very big ..however another impotant note drivability is still spot on. very short adjustment time to get in a drive it like i stole it.

Nice cars! Gotta love that yellow.
How do you like the MS Miata? Have you taken it to the track yet? And if so, which car had the faster time? RX-8 seems faster on paper, but I have a feeling that the light nimble turbocharged Miata might be pretty close in reality.

I take the MX-5 to the track (SCCA Solo 2 parking lot track) for the first time the 28-29 of Aug for the season finals. I will know for sure then. but i do plan to make the 5 the primary race car due to the lower cost ie set of hoosiers, gas, etc. How small they make the tracks here the 5 most likely will do better. I'll have to re evaluate the situation once i arrive in Vegas in a month (yes moving). I still need to get my skills improved (i never be satisfied there guess that is why i should practice practice practice) but one little story..... you can see this on one of my picture a "C" Stock) miata 1.8L M2 stock cept for a roll bar was just behind me in one of my larger autocrosses. my point .....if it was car and not driver difference my (my wife's) MS MX-5 should do very well in "B" Stock.
I am also thinking that if these cars have the same tourque (about) and the 5 is 700 to 800 pounds less. it should ad to ease of control. so far it (5) seems more fogiving. but i know my 8 so well i can really drive the crap out of it (so i think right)
at the very least this will be a very pleasant adventure... :D
