It IS a trait of the rotary, but it doesn't do that stock. To help matters, the motor runs very rich, dumping extra fuel in there to help with the flaming... IF you don't have a cat. I think some people have been able to get flames with the cat still in, though.

I was thinking of this pic today on my way home from work. Would love to have breathed fire on that black Mustangs front bumper that was pushing me down the road.
