:D Cuz these Dunlops aren't great, thus, they spin on command whilst on wet/slushy roads.
I got to enjoy our first snowfall (and probably our last) today, as work let people out early due to 'amber road conditions'. WA drivers typically freak the hell out at the first sign of snow. Of course, I'm one of the few who actually 'can' drive in snow. Yeah, everyone says they can, but I REALLY can. :D :ego:
hah
Few photos from about 20 minutes ago, around my neighborhood.
And my favourite:

Here's the vid - you lose perspective while watching thru a computer, however...the hill is fairly steep - steep enough my kids weren't allowed to ride their bikes down it while they were a year or two younger.
I had just taken the 1st and 3rd pics above, jumped in the car, and drove home. I get 'on it' a bit, come to the crest of the hill, then stop, and continue on my way. Had I been going for 'just traction' instead of 'fun sliding/sounds' I coulda taken off easier.

The tail end of my trip home for Thanksgiving was enhanced by and inch or 2 of snowey slush. The KDW2's aren't snow tires, but they handled themselves remarkably well for summer tires.

Sure thing - it's stock Mazda - the Appearance Package (side skirts and front lip) also has the Factory rear wing.
Thanks much!

My 8 did not come with that... wonder how much Mazda would rape me for that kit..I like the I lik eit all but I was never a big wing person, so Wonder where I can get something close with out the Factory price tag!

It was a $700 option/add-on when I got the car. Some guys sell the factory stuff when they upgrade to Mazdaspeed.

damn, how far north are you or was this on the east side? we got a little dusting while at work in tacoma, but nothing that stuck. prolly better for me since growing up in hawaii guarantees no snow time
btw, nice pics, again..

that snow isn't the snow you gotta be worried about when driving with the stock dunlops.. it's the fine stuff that falls when it's really cold and sticks onto the road giving it a sheet of snow.. that's the **** you gotta be careful with, i noticed your take off was pretty good, but in the type of snow i'm talking about the car won't move and actually moves sideways .. really strange feeling..

thanks folks 0 you are REALLY too kind.
Jynx - fortunately, we never get really bad, Toronto-type snowfalls around these parts. By your standards, I bet our recent weather would be considered 'balmy'. If I drove with the DSC on, I'd have probably taken off a bit smoother, btw.
