I sat inside of the USDM GT-R!
I snuck into the GT-R when no one was looking, I was the first person to sit inside the USDM GT-R besides the corporate people! Basically, the guy who unloaded the GT-R from the trailer left something in the truck and I noticed that he didn't lock it so I quickly jumped in and a friend took pictures of it. I got in big trouble but it was worth it. Oh, there's no VIN on it either. After being scolded by the Stillen people, they told me that I was the first one to be in it besides the corporate people. w00t!
Here I am in it.
Another one with me in it.
Me trying to sneak in.

I think this is the same GT-R in this youtube video that was tested by MotorTrend:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=CSjhHRqULSA
The license plate says 562 which matches the ones in the photos.

I have already started saving up for it. I want to be able to drop about a 10k downpayment. figure by about 2 or 3 years after it hits the market I can afford a 2-3 year old model with ~10k downpayment (thats my hope anyhow).
$69850 - $71900 for 2009 model - 10,000 dp = 59850 - 61900 minus 8 trade in (hopefully about another 8-10k = ~50 grand brand new... figure 10-12 grand off for a 2-3 year old model (~5k a year loss of equity). rounds out to be somewhere between 35-40k or 72 months @ 6% = only 11 dollars more a month than the 8

All your opinions of the GT-R are null and void unless you've seen it in person, driven it into a tree, then watched it catch fire. I happened to do just that last weekend and I still think it's a whale.

the major difference as to why I wouldn't go with an m3 or z06. EVERYONE who can afford a 70k car, gets the bdubs, corvettes, etc. not many of these will be on the road. something that drew me to the 8 as well. its uncommon popularity on the road. BMW, Mercedes, Corvettes used to be a vehicle that showed class a "society of wealthy". now they are a dime a dozen on the roadways.

It's not as big as you think it is. I thought it was big when I saw the pictures but after seeing one up close and personal, it's actually pretty short in height and in length. It's alot wider than most cars though.

there is one MAJOR thing that I didnt like about it, the body does remind me a bit of the 350z.

I can get one, but not at this time.
I asked a few dealerships in NYC, the markups are pretty crazy, one even said if Im willing to pay 10K markup, I can get it as soon as Late June or Early July.

Saw it at Detroit next to the 350Z...I was shocked how much larger it was than the Z...my experiences/thoughts were the direct opposite after seeing it in person.
