East Moon, the specifications on your engine seem to match those of the automatic transmissions version in the U.S. I am wondering if you also got the 16" wheels (~40.6 cm) that come standard with the AT version in the U.S. I have yet to see a picture of the 16" wheels. I would love to see what they look like. Thanks!

East Moon, thanks very much for posting the pic of the RX's with the 16" rims. I have been looking long and hard to get an image of those, and this is the first! I would go for the 16", even though the 18" look great, but in the U.S. Mazda will not provide the option of limited slip differential with the 16" rim. LSD [sic] is only available as a package with the 18" rims and other upgrades.

Thanks again. I guess I will have to get the Sport Package, so good-bye to the lighter weight 16" rims. I figured that the 18" rims with their heavier tires are about 8 lbs heavier than the 16" (48 lbs vs. 40 lbs).

My thinking was that the 7.5" tread width, even with the higher profile, might just be the best overall match with this car, especially with the automatic which I am looking at. I tend to think that the 18" wheel is more of a fad thing than a performance thing, when you take into account all the extra weight.

Other opinions appreciated. I guess the LSD will be the decisive factor for me.

Eager and in holding pattern,

Berry

East Moon,

Do you have the limited slip differential? If not, do you miss having it? Are there any disadvantages of having LSD?

Thanks ~~Berry
