I will never forget this day!
Well, I signed up to this forum on December 2003 and since then, I have visited this forum multiple times a day learning more and more about this car. I knew that someday I wanted to own one of these, but always knew I would just be dreaming. Today was the day that my dream came true.
So my senior year of high school is about the come to close in a couple more months and when my sister graduated, she got a new car, so I thought, hey, maybe I'll have a chance with the RX-8. For over a year now, I've switched between looking at cars, from Dodge Magnums, Chevy Colorado's, old BMW's the list went on and on and each day my wanting for a certain car switched.
In short, the past 5-6 months, I've narrowed it down to an RX-8 or a 2001 330Ci, however, I wanted the RX-8. Today after soccer practice and picking up my gf, I drove home to notice my parents cars parked outside the garage and I had no idea what was going on. I opened the garage door and well, I'll let the pictures explain...
2004 Mazda RX-8 6-speed GT brand new with 190 miles total on it after the drive from dealership to dealership and then to my house!

It's great you've been reading the forum all this time. There will be no surprises about why the trunk won't open etc. Researching here made my purchasing decision very easy. All the questions I had about the car were answered before I walked into the showroom.

Damn, that's awesome. I got a hand-me-down 1989 Pontiac LeMans. This was back in 1991 I'm not bitter though. Well, maybe a little. Congratulations, and welcoome to your new addiction. Go get the apperance package on that baby.

yeah, I'm going to start off simple, tint windows and then clear corners. Really want to get her broken in and used to the car before adding some things.
One thing I've noticed about the 8 so far is that she has a huge blind spot when looking over the shoulder to change lanes. There were multiple times where I would look, and the headrest was all I saw. Will need to get used to getting a very little look out the back side window, and I mean very little.

Also, what does it have in it and is it manual?

Yeh, I know, I'm not into speeding or doing anything like that. I am a very cautious driver, no accidents or tickets in the 2 years I have been driving...knock on wood I have yet to drive it yet because I am reading the manual still to make sure I know practically everything about this car before I take it out for a spin. My dad is the only one whose driven it. Other than that, I am excited and anxious to get this on the road.
Choopy, I think the curse is that there has been a lot of accidents with the Sunlight Silver RX-8's. I remember reading a thread about it a while ago that the majority of the accidents were with the Sunlight Silver. They say that they are harder to see in the day with the sun and all of that. Just be careful.
Thanks all for the congrats, and believe me, you have no idea how surprised I was. I was pulling into my drive way when the garage door opened and I saw it in there and I was seriously sitting at the bottom of my drive way thinking that this isn't real or it's a joke. My dad had to finally come to my window and tell me to pull up before I even moved. Man, I can still picture it in my head and every time I get the chills. I wokeup in the middle of the night last night and went downstairs to check to make sure that all this wasn't a dream, and there she was sleeping in my garage. Still can't believe it, the smile from my face has yet to come off and I have yet to drive her!

Yea, he's got the fever already...I can't tell you how many times I looked out the window to check on my baby...just to look at her. It gets addictive.

I was talking to one of my co-workers about the "Sunlight Silver Curse". He said that studies have shown that a silver car (any brand) is more likely to have an accident than any other color. I have noticed that I don't see as many cars of that color these days. Not like 15 yrs ago. They were all over.
