One thing I've noticed about the 8 so far is that she has a huge blind spot when looking over the shoulder to change lanes. There were multiple times where I would look, and the headrest was all I saw. Will need to get used to getting a very little look out the back side window, and I mean very little.

HardHitter--If you put those little round convex mirror thingies on each of your side mirrors, you'll remove the blind spots (I forget what they're called--it's too early in the morning for me!). You have to get the small ones b/c our mirrors are so narrow, though--I've actually had to train myself to look into them because I have them in the outside upper corners (since they're furthest out) as opposed to the lower corners, where I'm used to having them.

Congrats HardHttr, sounds like you're approaching this the right way- btw, whats with all these high school students having such nice rides! My choices when i was in high school in 89-92 was a 78 Malibu or Fort LTD Country Squire wagon....Then, my present for college was a TREK mountain bike. After I graduated college, i 'splurged' on a civic. But sounds like you have a great family, and enjoy your new ride!

Thanks for the congrats guys. I am a very catious driver and will be taking care of this car like no other. Matter of fact, I'm still driving my old car to school for the time being because I'm scared of those who just got their license and just people who are idiots at driving, let alone, the jealous people who will just key your car for the fun of it.
I do not care about racing or impressing anyone with speed, I like this car because I can cruise in style :D

Hardhitter you sound like a very responsible 8 owner. I'm new to the RX-8 family too and this website is the best!! It's awesome to talk with people all over the world who love thier car as much as I do. That's one hell of a graduation present man, I think I got like $100 back when I graduated lol. Congratulations on the new SWEET ride!!

Congratulation again. When I first had my rx8 people wanted to race with me for no reason at all. I had all kinds of idiots pull of next to me. A lot of them little Honda CIVICS. Just ignore them. Totally. You have a better car, or actually, WE have a better car and there is nothing for us to prove.
AGREED?????????????????????

HardHitter, congratulations! What an awesome surprise. And since you've spent so much time on the boards you will be well prepared to take care of this unique automobile. I think not driving it to school is a great idea... these days you don't know who you can/can't trust... besides, your car is silver.
