Installed Blue LEDs in my sister's RX8
#33
I ordered some LEDs of my own for my car. I didn't receive the first shipment but the company was nice enough to reship them.
Here is what I ended up with:

I also put some white LEDs in the running lights.

The running lights are almost too bright, but I don't think they look bad. They are a huge change from the dim bulbs that almost looks yellowish orange.

Living is best Modified.
White and Black RX8s. Very Poetic, in a way.
I've used UV neons, instead of leds. Whole sale - good for experimentation.
those LEDs in the first couple pictures look more purple/UVish then anything else.

These are the instructions for the footwell lamps from Mazda. It has all the info you really need to do this.
ViR2,
They are only on when the courtesy lights in the door are on. They would be a little bright to drive around with constantly. If you used a wire with a constant signal you could always install a switch and have them illuminated anytime you wished.

Are you talking about the ones in my car looking purple? Those first pics were taken when there was still available sunshine. When it's dark, they're very, very blue. They're the same ones he got for his car.

check out www.doctorLED.com they have all the different bulbs you need. the whole interior is the same except for the center dome light. Also the liscence plate, front corners, and the front running lights are all the same bulb as the interior one too. They offer many colors too. Bright White is what i got. I think there was an extra charge on mine and some other colors, just double check.
I did do my front parking lights the same as the previous pic on this thread. but i chose not to do the tag lights, just to avoid being harassed by the local donut munchers.
oh and **** while i was at it , i did my whole front walk with the bright white bulbs they make for "malibu" lights. I got all the neighbors Jones'in.

Where can I get a sweet set of LED's? I bought one set from Auto Zone but they seem dimmer than the lights in the pics on here....
Also, is it easier to wire the lights to an existing wire in the cabin heading to an area, or is it easier to run the wires to the fuse box?
