Ivory's got a system! :O

So recently i have been saving for a system, I finally decided to pull the trigger. i want quality, top notch stuff. Go big or go home. So i asked some of my local rx8 guys where I should go for my install. Anthony (donjuan) told me to go to SS audio, he said they were very professional and did a great job. Man was he right.... so here is the setup.
2 12" alpine "S" subwoofers
1, 2-port JBL 500 watt amplifier (speakers)
1, 2-port Apline 500 watt amplifier (subs)
4 interior speakers replaced, 2 rear and 2 fronts in the doors (all JBL, i don't know what sizes they are, i can't remember)

No deck as of yet, the guys at SS audio said that a company is coming out with a dash kit in about 6-8 weeks that will make my car look great and it will have a place for a nice deck without major custom work.

they also offered to make 2 flush plates for my system in order to make my system look like it belongs.

there is a 12 month warranty free of charge, and they also through in some LED lighting for free. They said that they really enjoyed working on a car that they don't see very often.

Even without a deck it sounds great! I can turn the volume to 25 and have my car bump a ton and still have the speakers sound crisp and clear. the Bass does not overpower my speakers.

The Total Cost Was $1586.00

i wish i could only fix my trunk rattle

Looks great, good use of the indented space in the floor of the trunk... IMO Iwould paint the mesh black, it will give it cleaner look. . also whered you get the mesh?

Looks good, congrats. IMO I think one sub would've suffice and with that money you should've dynamat the hell outta your car. They also have a license plate frame if you have one.

^Yeah i guess thats true, I know I would definitally not have room for subs, I snowboard in the winter and I have to use the center pass through to fit my boards.

looks good--I thought you weren't into getting a system? what changed your mind? I believe I saw in a different thread that you weren't that much into music. I apologize if I'm wrong.

you were right, but things changed a bit within the past year that i have been on this site. I just found myself turning the volume up really high just to get a little bass out of the speakers in the car, and even then i was not satisfied. now i can cruise with my car at 10-15 volume and have plenty of bass for my taste. money is money. Although subway does not pay very well, ill have that 1600 back pretty quickly.

but yeah, about the trunk space, the only thing that is going to be in there is my backpack and maybe a few random things. If anything ill keep my trunk a lot more organized now.

about the mesh, SS audio put that in. i'm not gonna paint it because im lazy and i think it looks fine.
:D thanks for the comments guys

I am having problems with the high notes, the headliner in the rear rattles, im going to have to fix that. i can't hear any other kind of rattle unless im out of the car. And surprisingly the bass does not travel through the car itself. If i turn on max bass at volume 20 and stand 10 feet from my car you can barely feel the bass. but if i open the trunk the bass will travel a pretty large distance.

the "company" your installer was probably referring to was Metra and the kit that should be out by the end of August..

long thread here about it: https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-interior-audio-electronics-24/confirmed-another-dash-install-kit-coming-147516/

really like that trunk amp setup. looks great and you can actually put stuff in the trunk w/o risk of it melting because of the amps.. something i cannot claim, lol.

I wish it didnt rattle so much. Mine sounds very crisp too on the high notes. A bit too much sometimes. I think when i change my head unit it'll be better. If anyone has a solution for the rattling i'd love to know
