No, I don't think it would, I would buy body colour or none at all.

This type of carbon fibre is nothing to be proud of anyhow, it's low grade. People charge stupid amounts of money for it because buyers think "oooo cf, that's so exotic". The stuff I work with at school costs $50-100/sq ft for each ply, those eyelids would be a few hundred bucks for materials alone.

I found an old photo from Philodox's website:

He painted his CF lids.

If you can imagine *** on a stick, that is how I think they would look.

I want a pair of lids but in gray just like Philodox.

I don't get the point of these eyelid things...are they supposed to make the car look better or something?? They just make the headlights look foggy. Do they serve any "functional" purpose or is it just for the look?

They don't serve a functional purpose, it's an aesthetic application, you either like or ya don't..

I made my own eyelids for mine, cost me about 15 bucks. I used weaved fiber glass matting and resin, fits perfect, feathered edges, sanded and painted. I also made a couple extra sets if anyone is interested. I will post some pics later tonight. I have a molding made for these so I can make more if necessary. I would most likely sell these things for about twenty dollars. They are really easy to make.

Exclamation Sweet eyelids...How can I get some for my black RX-8?

Those look great! Not to bite off you or anything but I have a brand new black '04 RX-8 fully loaded that those would be a great accent to. Any idea how I can score a set of those? Thanks!

Add me on the don't team as well, but I can appreciate someone dressing up their car to their liking. I can see why others would like it though but I just wouldn't do it to mine.

This is what I got so far, the original R-Magic eyelids are fiberglass. The ones from Evo-R are not vinyl, but they are also not fiberglass. So what are the Evo-R eyelids made of? (That's the painted ones of course)

EDIT 7/9/05 - Can anyone tell me what the Evo-R ones are made of?
