Hey guys, you've probably seen me postin around a bit and gettin a feel for the site for the past few months. And after all the delay i got my 8!B/c i live in vegas we had a driver drive it down to us. When we met the driver, i learned that he was a mazda employee that was also fellow member, Mystery. Thankfully he made it here safe and only with 1 chip (which the dealer will fix :D)

Recently there was a thread about younger drivers, I would like to claim the award for the youngest 8 owner on this site. Currently im 15 1/2 years old (I say that because thats when you can get your permit) I just got my permit a bit over 2 weeks ago and, yes im very blessed that my family can afford this car for a teen. Because my parents have the car under their name, and I'm an "occasional driver" my insurance is only about 265 /mo.

haha yeah, thats actually mystery, the car salseman who drove my 8 all the way from modesto. I don't think ill be puttin many mods on it for a good 6 months or so. when i went driving to show my friends. (1 which has a brand new G35, and another with a BMW 7 series) they said they could smell a whole bunch of clutch when i pulled up...i still have alot to learn about driving a stick, i practiced with my dad for a few months but every car is diffrent. my only problem is shifting from 2-3-4-5-6 smoothly, i dont grind the gears or anything, its just jerky.

Lucky guy.....I had to "impress" my friends with a 92 Honda Accord when I turned 16. Ironically I still drive a 92 Honda Accord as my beater. Congrats and enjoy the car!

Daaaaaaamn...you are lucky man, here in Bosnia you can have licence only when you have 18 yrs....I can't dream about it to have an RX-8 with 18 yrs...maybe later when i start to work...now I can only dream about it :D

I got my driver's license when I was 20... I was studying in England and people didn't need to drive that much back then... I could only afford to drive my GF's car... (she bought the car and I could only afford to pay gas) and it's an 88 Civic. I don't remember it was very fast but the 16 valves sticker already impressed a lot of my friends. Hence, I can totally imagine what kind of attention and envious faces you will get... lucky you, and feel good about it.

oh yeah! i do know how fortunate I am, really...coming to this site was just dreaming, i was hoping to get a used civic...my mom asked me what my dream car would be and i told her, and we started investigating the costs of the car and such, i never thought id get a car this nice.

thx man, yeah i do have a really nice car, but i come from an area where there are multiple kids with lotuses and NSXs and ferraries, them super rich bastages! but yeah, once i slap on a body kit i know ill have the sexiest car .

congrats on your new ride! your parents are kind with you...at 15 i got a mountain bike! hahaha, but that was 15 yrs ago, time's change, now kids get nice cars as gifts. just be careful driving in vegas.

Nice work man.... i just picked up my 04 nordic green.. basically the same as urs with the app. package, 6spd, and the only difference is that i have black leather and heated seats. im turning 17 in 13 days. just make us young drivers look good by avoiding the peer pressure with doing stupid **** like driving fast down a neighborhood street and almost getting into an accident. just be careful and good luck. i hope you mod it!!!

 

Umm the guy with the G35 got his when he got his license and now hes only 17 and the guy with the bmw 7 series, yeah same with him he got his at 15.5, although that was 2 years ago.

 

nicee, makes me feel small haha. i was also very fortunate to get a nice car as my first, it was a used 02 WRX, actually also right when i was about 15.5 im 20 almost 21 (w00t!) btw

anyways, congrats again on the car! doing mods wont help you learn stick any slower or faster so you might as well start now
