Kinda slow day at work today so..........
Figured i would take a couple pics of my 8 and post em....
Car is dirty, rained most of the day yesterday, damn hurricanes....
Anyway, the 8 is parked right in front of the audio shop i manage, and in the last shot you can see a pretty big mall across the street. See if anyone from the DE/PA/NJ area can figure out which one it is......

yes they are kdw's. no, no system as yet, only had the car since end of march, still in the planning stages. one of the plans is to use diamond audio all the way around for the speakers and amps, its a line we just picked up and can i say "oh my god" do they sound good. gonna do d9 fronts, d6 rears, subs and amps.
possible ideas are to keep the factory radio, or replace it, if i replace it, i think i am also gonna dump the factory nav, go with an carputer of some sore with a touchscreen, either a 7 inch put into the factory nav screen housing, or maybe try to squeeze a 10" into the factory radio spot. and mount the new radio in the spot where the nav screen is.
yes i have considered tinting, just havent gotten around to it yet.

i got the 791xv as a gift so i had that installed. hey lurch! if you wanna sell any of your exterior parts, i'm really interested. since i didn't get the appearance package.. can your buddy get deals on ms sides and rears too?? sounds like you have great plans for your car

im probably gonna keep all my parts. im sure he can get other parts, but he gets them through a friend that works in a parts warehouse, so i dont think he'll wanna go crazy doing that kinda stuff. i have the 791 also, just havent put it in yet, my installer wont do it as im putting in the remote start as well, and being a mt, he doesnt want to be responsible.

depends on how inclined to installing electronics you are. im pretty inclined so i can do the whole alarm/start myself, just gotta get the time. im not sure if i would even want to post it here, as it could be a huge liability

Lurch519, I sent you email....but no response...so I will post here. I bought the Sirius starbase unit for my car and want to do a direct connect with the pie part. Question is will it be worth the extra money. Will I notice a sound dif. with the bose system over the the fm modulation way by plugging it into the antenna...thx

think of it this way....
fm modulation..
1. sirius transmits signal to your unit
2. sirius unit converts it to audio signal
3. audio signal gets converted to "fm" and is broadcast, having to deal with any interferance in the area
4. head unit converts fm to audio signal, sending it out to speakers
aux in mod
1. sirius transmits signal to your unit
2. sirius unit converts it to audio signal sent out over aux in module
3. head unit amplifies to send out to speakers.
using the aux in module will result in at least one less conversion of the signal, allowing for a cleaner signal. also keep in mind, ever listen to a cd at higher volume, then switch to radio, im sure you noticed a difference in sound quality.
sorry, but i didnt get any email from anyone, ill look into it and make sure i have the correct one on here.

i think it would sound much better, also remember that fm doesnt have the bandwidth that you can get through an rca cable. i am gonna see if i can get the piece through one of my distributors and what price i can get. give me a little bit, ill send u a pm
