Thanks, I still have to finish it, I need to cut a hole for the intake pipe and also notch the edge towards the engine for the intake pipe to come through, but I'm going to mount the turbo this weekend and test fit the intake piping before powder coating to get the cuts right.

loving it. keep up the good work.
I'm glad the 8 is getting old enough that people wanna go crazy and do this type of work... this build makes me wanna get back in an 8... some day...

The BFH is a valuable tool. What are you doing for heat shielding around the turbo? My chassis around the turbo is toasted, I will be removing the turbo to add heat shielding here pretty soon.

The way the turbo sits and the way the wastegate is positioned I'm confident it will fit, but you never know. I guess we'll see what happens lol.
As far as heat shielding goes I'm using DEI Floor and Tunnel Shield(Floor & Tunnel Shield II - Heat & Sound Insulation 050507 | Purchase DEI, CryO2, Ny-Trex, Boom Mat & SPA Turbo Products | Design Engineering, Inc. - Thermal Performance Products), it says it's rated to 1750 degree direct temps.
I'm also using Insultherm UltraFlexx Pro Sleeving (WireCare.com :: Your Cable Management SuperStore!) it's a really nice braided fiberglass sleeving that I'll be using on the Coolant and Oil Lines, it's rated for 1200 degrees and has a melting point of over 2000 degrees.

Good news is the Turbo is mounted and everything fit initially...
Bad News is, it has to come off again because after clocking the compressor housing the Wastegate actuator doesn't fit properly and is hitting the Chassis. I think I'm going to make the Actuator bracket somewhat adjustable this time around.
Also the intake piping is hitting the Engine Mount bracket so I have to figure out what I'm going to do there.

Are you still using OEM engine mounts or have you switched over to something like the Race Roots bracket? Might provide more room.

Deadlines have gone out the window at this point, the build has been much more extensive than I had originally thought, and with unexpected delays my timeline has gone out the window multiple times. That said it should be done soon lol
