At Last My Intake Change Started
Her is a pic of my intake change with the perspex as with the same idea as someone a year or so back.
I must just still do the filter.
At the moment I just stripped the "plates" out and cut the hole and put in the perspex with 10 screws.
I was thinking maybe to go with a normal flat pad filter like BMC or K&N and have a nice aluminum "polished" intake made, the same as standard but front screen removed and the cone part the same all around (no cut out the bottom)
The shiny ally should look nice
What do you guys think
Philip

Sorry
By flat filter I mean, like the K & N drop in which is the same as the stock unit and the Polished intake is the part inside the airbox with the "flair part" where there is a screen as well.
I will make a new pipe out of aluminum the ID is 86mm, then flare it on the one side.
The other side push in on the inside of the box with three lips for little self tapping screws.
When it is highly polished you will see it through the "plexiglass" as you call it (here we call it perspex) and should look stunning and add a hp or two due to better horn, removed screen (remove one only) stripped box (plates removed) and the better filter itself.
I will post pics when finished
PM me if you need any more info
Cheers

Yes there are a total of two screens for the maf sensor, and yes I will only remove the first screen.
Think of looking through the "perspex" or "plexiglass" and seeing the polished intake part with the cone, and the flat drop in filter in the background.
It will look great.
open the filter box and look inside then you will see the standard intake tube with cone, its black plastic with a lip cut out at the bottom. Now that I want to make out of aluminum and polish it. the cone or flair part will just be a little less to make sure it can be uniform all around (no cut at the bottom, for better flow)
Cheers
