Malibu California 6/20/05 VIDEO/PICS (video just added..a must see)
These are some of the numerous pics I took on our most recent cruise. This was our third time doing this run. First meet we had 3 come out, 2nd meet was well attended with 9...but we only had 4 this time...hopefully more will show up at the next meet. I wont be able to go and take pictures for the July meet, but video cameras will be rolling.
There's a video of the cruise (a must see)..see page 2 (XPED's post) for the link...thanks to his time editting and web host for the video.

more to enjoy....these are the "you could be here" shots. July is our next meet...don't know the date yet, but we have been meeting the 3rd Saturdays of the last three months. Addictive, any idea on the date for the next meet?

as you can see, I'm a picture *****...If you look closely, you can see how Xped tinted his stock amber turn signals (pic 5). Pic 3 shows the nice finish of the dark chrome wheels that come standard on the Shinka.

Saw a brand new red GT40 and a couple of new Lotus Elise while on our cruise but couldn't take pics given that they passed by so quickly...but I did get some shots of some of the other company I had on the way home....
First cruise we got a glimpse of the Ariel Atom in its 2-seat open air greatness...as well as a family of Porsche. Saw a Morgan and a couple of Ferrari on the last cruise. Its always fun to see what cars are cruising around...and even better, the expression on people's faces as a hole line of RX-8 pass....fun,. fun, fun... :D

i've been wanting to go to a meet since i moved out here.... but my car is still back home!! I'm flying to go get my baby on Thursday (23rd) so I should have her back here by Monday.
When's the next meet? I'm sure i'll want to take some pics of my 8 with the cali scenery.
I'm pretty stock (modded my previous cars wayyyy too much, so I'm not doing much to my 8 for now)... but I'd like to meet some of you all and tag along.
...if thats ok?!?

More the better, its so awsome seeing a bunch of eights driving together. The next date for the meet hasn't been decided yet, so keep an eye out on the malibu cruz thread.

Does your 11-99 foundation plate help you out of tickets ?
I hear it does

Regarding each 8 being different...that is definately the case with each event I attend. I show up to OC meets, San bernardino meets, went to Tustin and to Torrance. It was amazing to see how many guys had custom rims on their rides for our second cruise in Malibu, I think I ended up being the only one with stock rims. I was the only one with the MS kit though. I put up a link to those pictures on this thread...check em out. We even had a turbo'ed 8 (Fanman) on the last run.
The Torrance group has many 8's with different body kits...and lots of carbon fiber hoods, coilovers and such.

In the San Bernardino group, there is only one guy with custom rims, but most have other mods such as car lighting, exhausts, intakes...different groups from different areas tend to spend their aftermarket money differently.

and a cool video of the Big Bear cruise

It just seems to be partially regionalized and differs by age as well. I think that is the second reason why I show up to these events...to see what others have done to their 8's. MOst important reason is the cruise.
