When i think about my next mod i research the hell out of it, its foolish to waste money, and research is free. Fight the compulsion to just buybuybuy.
If its an aesthetic part, then photoshop it on and determine ground clearences
If its a engine part then understand its advantages/disadvantages and accept both

It's not stock, it's lowered at least an inch. Look at my sig, that's stock. Oh, and they don't rub at that height. They did when the rear was lower.

The hood will be painted red/black like NYC Drift King's car, the roof will be black as well like his car. The spoiler I had wrapped in a CF wrap to make it look CF, then I tried to clear coat over it to make it look like the hood. Well that didn't work, now it's just shiny with a weird texture lol. So that's coming off, and that'll be PAINTED black, just like the roof/hood. 9 years worth of nicks and scratches will be gone, especially on the driver side door jam where it looks like somebody tried to jimmy the door open. It's down to bare metal in places there.
I managed to eff up the rear bumper, so they're going to fix that. I'm also planning on buying some real grill mesh and putting that on the front and rear bumpers. I had the brilliant idea of going to Home Depot, buying a little bit of that diamond cut mesh made out of sheet metal that they use for fences. I painted it black with plastidip and used it as a front grill. Well it looked fine at first but over a year or so of driving more than half of the plastidip has chipped off, so parts of it are black and parts of it are shiny metal, and it looks dumb. here's what I'm going to replace it with:
customcargrills.com - Perforated Hex Aluminum Grill Mesh Sheets
There's a Rotary shaped tail light that fits into the rear bumper, I'm going to install that as well.
Here's what I'm worried about. The front wheel wells' plastic fender liner came loose and started rubbing against the wheels. It's mostly disintegrated by now so I'm going to replace it. The problem is, and the problem I was having before that I never really solved was my wheels rub against the fenders. It's not THAT low and already it's at the point where if it goes any lower it's going to destroy my tires. I don't know if it will destroy the new fender liners I have to put in. What frustrates me is I did what people here have suggested. 25mm Spacers, 245/40/18 tires, Tenabe coilovers... I really don't know what I'm doing wrong, and I haven't met anybody *in person* who can take a look at it and say "oh yeah , well you just have to do this this and this to get it to work right". It doesn't look BAD, but I see other people with tires INSIDE their wheel well and I'm like WTF? How am I having so much trouble when I'm not even close to that?
TLDR: New paint, new grill, fix the rear bumper, add a rear tail light, and WTF IS WRONG WITH MY WHEELS.
I'll have to post some pictures of what it looks like now.

Cheapy CF hoods always do that. Your rubbing issues is likely do to soft spring rates if your wheels are factory size (18 x 8 +50). Your car was also probably repainted unless it has been poorly maintained, RX-8 paint is very good if taken care of. Which is why mine looks basically perfect after 10 years.

I know at least part of it was repainted because the roof is somehow darker than the rest of the car 0.o There was a long while (several months) where I hadn't waxed it, would that have preserved the hood at all or is there nothing I could have done?

Nothing really prevents it, even the legit Cf hoods will get that way eventually, it has always been that way. The only thing you can do is have it cleared when it is new. That will help it last longer.

When I purchased my hood, I had no idea it was a replica... Ive had this hood for 3-4 years now... Regardless, Its still fantastic and looks great, especially with my paint job... I still find it amusing you call Jedi's 8 rice... If his 8 is rice, so is yours as his is way cleaner than your 8... no offense...

No offense taken, everyone has different styles. His 8 is one of my all time favorites, but the hood is just for show in his case, so by definition rice I guess. That's not a bad thing though and it's not an insult, everyone has something that is rice by definition. But Jedi only used the best parts and was the trend setter in terms of how he pulled that hood off so that is what makes his ride legit, the rest of you are just copy cats
Now when Jedi goes turbo then it will be functional, he will need to get rid of all the engine bay heat he can

I wouldn't call what I did or perhaps anyone else copying. With that argument Jedi could of copied someone else when he saw a BMW or whatever with its CF hood painted... Just because he possibly had the idea first doesn't mean he owns that idea. Im sure we've all seen the patent commercial with that lady who states she came up with the "Swiffer" Idea first, but someone else patented it. With that line of reasoning I could say you are copying the first person who bought those Volk wheels on a red 8 or that MS front bumper and side skirts. Your 8 is not different no matter how much you want it to be, no matter how "clean" it may be...
All im saying is all of us get our ideas from others and what we see, then we approach our situation in a way we see fit. The only original idea is Hoss' build, because no one has done that before. Now If I had a BB 8, ordered a CF hood, painted it the same way, and styled my 8 (exterior) the same way then by definition I would be a copy cat...
Edit: I would assume his Varis hood, considering its the first "authentic" inception of the TS hood, would be functional. Even a little heat reduction helps, thus it has FUNCTION aka not rice. Hell Ive seen my hood shed some heat therefore there is some performance aspect to it thus its not exactly just for show. My hood as Jedi's, does release some heat...

Clean is what I am shooting for. It's all about the sum of parts and personal preference. And an R3 body swap on an S1 has been done before, just not on a turbocharged RX-8, and not in the states. Being a copy cat is not a bad thing either, some people just have that vision to be a trend setter and Jedi, newcastle, ngo, sifu, and others are just some of those people.
