Mazda RX-8 in Sega GT Online

that's pretty damn good if that is actually an in-game model...i don't think so though...even if it was the game would probably not be able to hold a constant frame rate with more than 3 or 4 of those on screen at the same time

that'd be pretty pointless as an ingame model, how many people really have tv's that do more than 320x240 resolution...ok a few people have some nice hot shiny sony vega's that do 640x480 or something. that above picture is still like 4x too big for a tv =p... any tv for that matter.

i have an Enhanced Definition 480p tv that is capable of 800 X 600 and there are a few PS2 games that take advantage of it like Tekken 4 i nprogressive mode...the XBox is HDTV capable making it 1080i which is, i believe, 1024 X 768 resolution...
i know what you're saying though, that graphic is way too ultra high resolution, which is why i was saying i doubt that's an in-game graphic...

This is probably for the car select screen as opposed to an in-game screen. I thought Sega GT 2000 for X-Box was fantastic by the way.
Remember that DVD is designed to be played on all TVs and the output is 480 horizonatal lines (i.e. all TVs can do 640x480). Most standard PAL TV's can display real SVGA 800x600 (PAL is 625 lines whereas NTSC is only 525 lines). Most HDTVs can display a 1920x1080 image (normally scaled down to between 720-520 horizontal lines on RPTVs). In a few years most HDTVs will output 1080 lines (right now the RPTVs and FPTVs that can do this cost way over $10k).

RX-8 will be the featured car on the box
I can finally announce that the RX-8 will be on the cover of Sega GT Online for XBox when it is released in November.
My wife works on packaging in the Marketing department at Sega and I guess my enthusiasm for the RX-8 as well as it's inherent charms worked their power. Below is the 'packfront' art for the US version (hmmm... that car is blue, just like mine. :D ) The car on the Japanese version will be red.

From the new PSM:
Your cars wheels will affect it's performance.
Assissi and Fuji Speedway tracks are confirmed.
ProLogic II and DTS not supported but you will rather have an internally developed 3D audio format.
Six-player online races through broadband only, however it's not confirmed but most likely that wet courses will still be restricted to four cars.
Yamauchi-san stated that they are strongly looking into the inclusion of drag racing.
Body kits will be in the game but due to the number of cars they will probably only add them to certain cars like the 350Z or S2000.
Rally tracks will still be circuits. No point-to-point.
It was simply said that using certain recording techniques "your Stingray will actually sound like a vintage Vette." However this could just be speculation.
