A must have for any RX-8
I've noticed that most rx-8's pictured here have rusty *** rotors with nice clean wheels. I just don't understand that so heres something you all should invest in!
Not sure what it's called but it looks clean and you don't need to worrie about people hating on you for having nice wheels and rusty *** rotors
It's that little blue piece.. i love it

it is plastic. someone posted about this months ago. they're selling plastic shields for the brake rotor centers in japan. the thread was asking why it's not sold here in the US. but why not paint it instead? plastic would make it look cheap...

I may be stupid but would plastic not just melt after a drive? Every time I change brakes on anything I always wish i would have just waited a few extra min before touching them.

I just got my rotor hubs cleaned and silver powder coated at the dealer two days ago for free. If you're still covered under powertrain warranty, you can get it done at your dealer at free of charge.
My car is 04 and has 44k miles......
Here's something you can show to your dealer, if they refuse to do it...

Rust can be seen on the brake rotor hub area when looking between the wheel spokes. The rust is most visible on vehicles equipped with 17" chrome wheels. 1. Remove rust from hub(s) by sanding. 2. Clean/prep hub surface for primer. 3. Mask off brake rotor area. 4. Apply primer around entire hub area. 5. Once primer dries, apply a heat type silver paint to the affected area to repair the vehicle. Note: Replace the rotor(s) only if the affected area cannot be repaired enough to satisfy the customer.

this looks like something from one of those ricers who paint their brake drums different "performance" colors.
ex: "geeh, i didn't know brembo made drum brakes!"
