My 8's Battle Scars

I bought my 04 brilliant black 8 a few months ago from a dealer in socal. It took me a while to finally decide to really show her with all her battle scars. Theres the love marks on the rear side, the butt bump on the bumper, and of course every wheel front to back has a beautiful curb kiss . Also I'll throw in how the SSV looked when i pulled it out. Clearly someone that didnt know how to handle this car had it last. I for one am going to take car of her ALOT better

Hate to see that.

Mine has developed quite a few battle scars as well. Working at a grocery store kinda sucks because even if you park in the very back someone will park right next to you just to be a dick, which leads to all sorts of battle scars

I've got so many rock chips my panels looks freckled. The price paid by being a daily driver in and out of the city.

I have a few of the daily chips and dings but eh what can you do. The things that surprised me were how the previous owner of my 8 was able to curb all the rims almost all the way around the edge. That is what I call bad parking, and ya the SSV was locked up from all that carbon so I'm guessing the car has seen alot of slow driving

I agree with you, i used to have a 05 corolla and one day when i got off work, one side of my rear bumper is completely tore out, i had to put duct tape on it and to hold it up until i got home and had time to fix it.

big hit from after a party. guy was blown out of his mind in a pick up. throws it in reverse then park. i decide to pass behind him, he throws it in reverse and guns it.
cost for me: 1400 for fender, rim, and paint.
cost for him: 5 bucks tops for some scratch polish
luckily insurance on his side took care of it and nothing outta pocket from me.

He did actually, that's the reason why I had to get a replacement rim. Scuffed it pretty badly and needed an alignment. Just glad it didn't do any serious structural damage

It sucks, seems like no one respects an rx8. First day took my girl to dinner and a white Suv parks next to me and slams their door into mine. Old lady rear ended me going 45-55 and totaled her Jetta (i had the pry the door open to get her out of the car.) Have pictures on profile of accident should of took a pic of her car. Then when i was pulled on the side of the road after getting hit a guy swerved off the road almost hit me while talking to the insurance company while in the car and spit gravel all over my car..Sheriff right behind me didn’t do anything ha. That was the best day ever... btw my rental car was a Pontiac vibe, and im 6'5 215...Love other drivers. Adapt and overcome.

I hate parking at work. We have a pretty big lot and i usually try to part at the far end of one of the rows preferably in the last spot (basically where all the nicer cars are, bmw, vettes, benz's etc). Everyone in a while I will come out to a car that decided to create their own parking spot next to my car. Not only that, they have this idea that they should get really close to make it look like a legit spot. One of these days I hope to run into someone that does that and chew their *** out. Honestly are people so stupid that they dont understand why people park in those far spots? At least understand and leave some space.

Were you able to fix those dings and scratches in the past year?

Paimon, no I have not. Judging from the age of my car and the amount of things somewhat broken, I will probably get an upgrade and trade this one in within a year. If that plan doesn't work out I'll more than likely just go with a custom all around paint job. Too many scratches on the car

Yep, she's seen better days. The old owner seemed to not really take care of the car. Even with all the little defects, I still love this car that's all that matters
