Yeah, what is funny once we get married or get someone in our life we tend to be the safest drivers on the road. When you add kids it even gets safer for us. The girls on the other hand go the opposite way. They become more relaxed and distracted in the car as they age. That is the reason for the large discount when men get married and are over the age of 25. Women also receive discounts, but just not in the volume men receive. All and all the more you are on the road, the higher the risk.

k so this is the situation. The quote was nearly completed today, they only looked at the body and not the axle/suspension...so far the quote is at 20 grand, he suspects that there may be "unknown damages" that may lead to another 2 grand but he is not sure of that. It is suspected that it would take 5 business days per 1000 dollars of damage. We are awaiting to see if the insurance wants to declare it totaled or if they want to go along and fix the thing. I SERIOUSLY doubt that it is 20 grand seeing as it was just body work. then again the frame part of the car (i.e engine bay/back left 3/4 panel) were both dented. the part of the engine bay that was part of the fender was dented slightly inward. I guess the damage was more substantial than i had thought. Right now i have mixed emotions, i want "MY" car back but i don't want all the hidden problems it may have when fixed....and i don't want to wait 5 months for the car to be fixed. But then again i DO want MY car back and am not sure if i want to get a new car. If i have to get a new car I am also not sure it will be an 8. I'm very undecided atm.

well the 8's frame is a monoque chassis, meaning its not just a low boxed frame. if it is bent, the car is virtually totaled. if i were you, not to get you down, i would start looking for a new one. then with the money, buy 2 new wheels and what ever else you had on the car and you basically have "your" car back
it shouldnt take 5 months for you to get your new car. just keep your head high, you will get your car back
stick with an 8 man. you know you love it
good luck

well it wouldn't be my car anymore, what is nice is that the people at the body shop are telling the insurance company to add in the cost of my wheels intake and exhaust in the check i will be receiving, so if it is totaled, the intake exhaust and rims will all be on the car in the junk yard, if u can find the car...u can take whatever u want off it lol. either way the insurance will be paying for all losses of my car...at least thats what i was told

Hi.
I think it is not that bad. The front fender is toasted. Both doors got to go. The only panels to fix are behind the rear suicide door and the roof. That roof can be fixed up. New drivers door and drivers side rear door, fender and the body work on the aforementioned panels ( roof and rear area ) will do. Your front spoiler is paintable and it appears it is not broken. A driver;s side mirror and you are in.
I undertand your experience played a role, but if the other driver leaned toward you because she did not see you, that is her fault, not yours, drivers are suposed to scan the road and turn their heads to make sure there is nobody at the blind spot.
That was a contributing factor that should ameliorate and lessen your responsability, and if you have the license plate and information about the other driver, her insurance should co pay in your accident. All depends on her statements and yours in the police report.
Your car is not in that bad of a shape, the frame is not compromised, neither the engine, suspension, etc.
Hang tough and be cool, it is one more experience that will make you a better man.
