My Black on Blue
Here are some pictures of my 2006 RX-8 that i purchased new when i worked at Galpin Autosports and Pimp My Ride back in June of '06. Let me know what you think so far
This was right after i smoked the headlights, painted the foglight housings, and painted the trim on the side mirrors.
Here are all of the interior parts and side mirrors all scuffed and ready for paint.
Headlight fresh out of the booth.
Rear end shot after the taillights were smoked and the rear bumber valance was smoothed and painted.
Door panel before and after.
Upper door panel before and after.
Door panel all reassembled before reinstall.
Bob Vandergraff laying out the flames.
More pre-paint
after being shot with the black base and pearl ghost skulls.
close-up of some of the skulls
Bobby adding all of the striping around the flames
then comes the clear coat

WOW!
Nicely done man, if you're going to do flames, it pays to get quality work done.

i can't complain about the flames because i did not have to pay a dime for them. it is actually kind of funny because the guy that did them for me was just messing around with the fine line tape when i had my car car in the shop for the winter and he laid some flames out and i was just pretty much like "go ahead and spray it." so we stayed around the shop for the next couple of nights and we did the whole thing. i need to get some of the other side pictures put up because he broke the traditional flames up into tribal flames on the side of the car and it looks pretty bad ***.
i can understand though....different strokes for different folks right?

WOW!! this is one sweet 8, the interior is sick and the flames are growing on me. But one has to appreciate the time and effort that was put into this car for sure, if you have any more pics of the interior in the day, post them, expecially the set up on the doors.

wow, that is some amazing work. i'm not normally a fan of flames but done right with the ghost skulls, at least it's different and very artisticly done. that interior is just killer too.
not to add another .02 but did you think about smoking the corners as well? the orange markers really stand out and would look much cleaner if they were also smoked.

it is a show car but i also drive it in the spirng and summer. i will be taking it off the road at the end of this month and puting it back in the shop here to work on it some more.
as for the cornors, i am going to smoke those this winter along with finishing my audio system. i have 2 12's that are going to be residing where the back seats are currently located, 2 kinetic hc2400 high current batteries that are going to be glassed in on the floor boards behind the front seats, and my pride and joy....the arc audi 4000se that will find its home in the trunk next to the 4200se that drives all of the mids and highs. it is going to be a lot of fiberglass work but i am hoping to have it all complete by the world of wheels car show here in february.
