My car got Molested

At least that is how I see it. I am sure I nor the car wanted the dumbass who did this to hit my car, and more importantly, I did not want them to leave, like nothing happened.

I was in the grocery store for 10 minutes, and I was parked WAY out in the middle of F'n nowhere, in one spot, near a light pole to try to prevent someone from cutting throught the lot and hitting me. This particular lot, attracts a lot of crazyass drivers.

I hate parking lots, and I hate inconsiderate people, who can't manuever their cars through a parking lot, without smashing into everything they see.

The bumper cover has some good scratches in it, luckily the tailight can probably be cleaned, I hope. I say, I hope, with my luck, that scuff is permanent.

Sorry that happened. Hunt them down and

I always park in the middle of an empty area and have often worried about some idiot doing that to my '8.

I always park like that too, but I'm always scared of a loose grocery cart hitting it.

That totally sucks. It's one thing for someone to accidently bump into you, but people that hit and run should be shot! Judging from the size of that scuff, there is no way he wouldn't have known that he hit you.

Sorry. Same thing happened on my front right fender 2 weeks ago, but it's more of a blemish than a streak.

That's why I normally look for a car that's more expensive than mine, and park on the driver's side of that door.

Parking in the middle of the lot makes people think you're snooty, and they get petulent and beat up your car. However, if you're parked by some $50k BMW you have two things going for you. One, the BMW driver isn't going to hit your car. Two, if someone does decide to be a dick, hopefully they dick over the person with the more expensive vehicle.

^ yup, but usually when a kid sees a BMW... versus an RX-8. They'll be looking toward the 8 because BMWs are everywhere.

what I meant was, I hope that scuff comes out, but with my bad luck, it won't. Sorry, I was a little peeved last night.

AC, I never lok for the exploder, I will have to do that in the future. I asked about cameras in the lot, and the lot is not watched, it was my first reaction, outside of examinging every white vehicle in the parking lot, and a few other high bumperd vehicles, just for good measure.

epitrochoid, I am currently trying to get the bumper from Mazmart, they are local, and will save a lot of headache. I just want to get it fixed, with it being on the drivers side, I have to look at it everytime I get in and out of my car.

EDIT: I forgot, the trunk looks funny, because it was popped open, just not closed. Trunk closes fine, no binding or contact with the taillight lense. But good eyes to see that, some very detailed folks around here.

i need to take pics of my titanium 8. Four inches of paint got ripped off from the rear bumper. And left side of front bumper got scraped... all when parked. I swear I'm a very vindicative person, if there were cars still in front and behind me at the time I got back to my car and saw that, that person would need new windhshields, windows and new tires.

I agree with the second point but from my experience, most people driving expensive cars often have no clue how to drive themselves. Soccer moms and rich-guy-who-doesn't-care-about cars come to mind. You know, a good idea might be laying out those fake turds that we all used as gags in high school in the spot next to ours and no one will park there

so far, both estimates are over $1,000. Great fun. I think I just need to get a big *** hoopty, and not worry about it anymore.

Same thing happened to me... except I backed into the guy. He parked on my driveway and I backed out of the garage like always and hit him. My bumper is no where near yours though. I took some touch up paint for the scratch and filled it in the best I could. The only way you can see mine is if you own an 8, or if you get right next to it. I live in the ATL as well. Where is Mazdamart located? I could just pick up a new bumper cover from them and not have to worry about shipping. I also hear that it is easy to replace. So, we can go someplace and have a rear bumper replacing party! Sounds like fun to me....

you get what you pay for, I could do it for a 100 bucks too, but it might look like ****. and since the rst of my car does not look like crap, i think i will pass on the $100 body shop.

RX8ZoomZoom,

Mazmart is located in Chamblee:http://www.mazmart.com/about.html

I dont know what I am going to do yet. Paul at Mazmart thinks he has a Ti bumper, but was not sure of the condition, and has not told me price yet.

He told me he could a new one from Mazda for a little over $300, and with his discount it would be $275. I asked if the $275 one was used and he said it wasn't. But, if you could get a new one from Mazda for a little over $300, and install it yourself, that'd be a little cheaper than paying some body shop $1,000.
