Chrism, thanks for stopping by and checking out our cars! Hope you guys had a blast...sorry we couldn't pull out a win for ya. We did lead the race for a good clip though and our other car was in 4th then. Then after our driver swap the #62 burst into flames and driver had to bail. Then the #63 got pushed into a tire wall and damaged the nose bad enough to cause some major cooling issues so, we brought him in and worked what we could and sent him back out but the temp kept rising and the motor blew. Bad weekend for us and a lot of work to do before the next race...2 cars to fully rebuild! We can't seem to catch a break...
Thanks again though for coming out and giving us your support!

Chrism with Racers Edge driver, Craig Stone. Big grins all around!
The ROAR Racing RX-8 that caught fire is driven by my friend Chip Herr, Mazda's new factory driver. He races in Touring Car for Tindol Motorsports as well. At the BBQ at the corral, he told us what happened. The ROAR RX-8 has a fire retardant system button located on the dash closer to the passenger side. He had a tough time engaging it because the fire shooting up from the transmission - the fire was between him and the button! It was his first ever racing fire in all the years he did Spec Miata, Touring Car, etc.
I'm still at the track. I have tons of photos from the past few days and will have coverage of tomorrow's races as well. Stay tuned!

It was great meeting everyone at the track. What a great turn out of RX-8s in the car corral. I apologize for not being able to get the #61 car up to the corral for you guys, but it was a little difficult to steer with an adjustable wrench, since the steering wheel was stolen. I guess the collector that nabbed the wheel did not think about how much it was going to cost to replace since there was a spacer and quick release hub also attached.
We had a great time seeing our cars up front, even without any rain Swoope, but now we have to get back to the shop and get everything ready for the next race. We will be sure to move the pull for the fire suppression system over closer to the driver side.
Thanks for the brownies. they did not last long once they were found in the pits during the race. One request though. next time you bring brownies, find me first, I only got one.
Thanks for your support. Having great fans like y'all helps keep us going when things don't turn out the way we would like for them to.
