my newly installed greddy exhaust

I think greddy exhaust is the best one out there cuz it has deep throaty sound but not ricey. I like the sound of it, it catch people's attention.

0 if you ask me. If you want HP I personally don't believe an exhaust is gonna get you even 2HP Lucky for me, that's not why I got it. Personally I didn't care for the pitch of the exhaust winding up the band when I'm driving. I found something that sounds deeper, strong, low and smooth. The car finally sounds as good as it looks and drives I'll expect improved HP when a decent super charger comes out. Until then I'll listen to the subtle but strong Greddy on my drives.

Could'a saved yourself half and payed Barry White $300 to sit in the rear seat behind you and make engine noises.

Yeah, but then you'd have to buy lots of air fresheners...seeing as how he's been dead for a year or so.

We have the same exhaust; I'm loving mine. If you have new-found power or torque, I'm a paying customer. By all means, enlighten me

Your wrong. The greddy exhaust alone will give u a decent hp gain. The Greddy Exhaust + Midpipe + Intake will give you very impressive gains. Take in more air, blow out more air, and you will get more power.

Well of course he's dead. You don't think you could get him for $300 if he was alive, do you?! Sheesh.

You know what I just thought of, though - he's still a lot heavier than the RB exhaust. I guess you could look at that extra $300 as weight savings, which is performance.

Barry's a legend.... leave the poor guy alone.

Back to the thread, those tips on the Greddy look HUGE!
My HKS ain't that big, but they've already started to warp the surrounding plastic trim.
You have been warned!

Geez...I'd like to have cars with installed Greddys, RX8 Store cat-back, and Borlas all in one spot. I'd like to compare the sound idle, and geared, plus review the HP gains.

If I had sound clips of each, I'd post them on the MazdaNow.com website for all to experience.

Anyone know where I might acquire sound clips of each??

BTW...those greddys look saaaaaaaaaaweet! :D

no sound clip but some members got a chance to hear the difference.

as for hp gains i never felt it with the re intake but now with the greddy
the car feels like it woke up.im doing some research on the rp mid pipe.
we will see.

can you describe the differences between the two exhausts?

I have the borla, but I notice the exhaust sound changes depending on temp, and some other variables.

Darn Randy, I deleted the clips off the site had them on a while ago, but there was a Greddy/HKS/Stock comparo we did at a meet down here a while back.

I'll resample the greddy and am sure I can see Alex for teh HKS. Dunno who has a Borla down here though.

About the tips/warping plastic, I've had my Greddy on for 8 or 9 months now and have had zero issues with heat at the tips. I also dont beleive the Greddy is giving any extra HP. A midpipe will free up a little, but just a catback from what I have seen wont do anything but chaage the sound.

BTW, congrats to the OP on the exhaust. I agree it's a good one :D

According to Racing Beat the most you'll gain with headers and racing exhaust is 10HP.

Check it here:

http://www.racingbeat.com/FRmazda4.htm

They do mention after market mufflers could get you 2-3 HP's though.

Does anyone have clips of the Racing Beat & Greddy without the K&N intake? I know it has to add a higher pitch to the exhaust, and apparently Mazdatrix has K&N in all the videos.
