my rx-8: drop, new paint, appearance
I picked up this 04 AT with 111k miles a couple months back, stock with no trim whatsoever on it.
I installed clear corners, ebay mirrors, 20% window tint, springtech drop coils, painted the brakes red to cover up the rust that everyone bitches about, got the condensation out of the tails, added the rear rotor accent, 3.5" SS exhaust tips, wing, front airdam, and shineautoproject side and rear skirts, and fresh base/clear honda satin silver metallic (far more metallic than stock mazda sunlight silver).
I also installed an FC rx-7 oil cooler, and converted the stock rx8 oil cooler to AT fluid cooler. Midpipe, turbo kit/etc. are on the way but that **** will be a while.

Nice...I'm feelin' those exhaust tips...sweet! By the way, is it just me, or is there a MAJOR gap between the front bumper and the hood? I'd also be interested in seeing some pics of the painted hubs more closely. Been planning on painting mine just plain black, but that red looks intriguing...

Yes, 111k original miles on the original engine and trans. I bought it from a one owner lady who commuted about 100 miles round trip daily. The engine is down on power a bit (even for an auto) and doesnt idle 100% smoothly, and also starts a little slowly. I started running premix to build up compression and it has stabilized the idle and startup quite a bit to "normal" standards. I've gotten about 23mpg on highway driving so far. I'd say it's help up pretty well.
Yes, there is a gap in the hood and the rest...it doesnt line up perfectly. The car had been wrecked in the front end, and got a new nose and halfass repaint of the front. It as a light impact and did not affect frame or alignment. Due to the mileage and the wreck, I purchased the car for 10k cash. I dont think anyone here would say that is a bad deal even considering the history; I could probably resell it right now and make 3 or 4 grand minimum.
IF the spacing of the emblem in the rear is off it is due to the repaint...the emblem was reused and not bought new. The paint man didnt have anything to go off of when replacing the emblems so he just got it close. Looks fine to me. I will trade a little incorrect spacing of the emblem for the new paint and money saved any day. Perhaps you will bear that in mind the next time you make a car payment.
OF course this means there is no warranty or car payments to inhibit me from modding it like some of the more conservative people on this forum :D

first off.. photography A+ I love them pics!
Second off.. that is a good looking SS. With respect to dmp this is the only pics of a SS where i thought to myself "damn that is a sexy color."
110k miles i think makes it the highest mileage 8 on the boards, good luck.
