My Velocity Red/Orange RX 8
Hi all,
Sorry about the orange looking pics and cut off shots but my garage is only so big.
I spent this weekend watching it snow and working on the car. I got 4 coats of Zaino on it, WOW its slick stuff. I did the clay bar, 2 coats of Z5, and 2 coats of Z2.
And I put the strakes and front mud guards on this morning. Easy job that took about 45 minutes for the first side, then 15 minutes on the other. I do like the looks of the mud guards.
And I found out something very important.......my golf clubs do fit in the trunk!! That was the first reason I nixed the 350Z.

This car will probably not leave the garage with even a hint of rain, let alone snow! Just a toy for me, I feel for the guys that have to use theirs as a daily driver and keep up with the cleaning.

Hi Red RX,
After looking at Gordon's car set up with snow's, it looks like a sporty sport UT. But I am fortune enough to have a nice Ford Powerstroke 4x4 to get me thru the snow, sluch and salt. I'd rather not test the Zaino with salt unless I have no other choice.
I know this summer I will be driving it to the lake every weekend rain or shine. Lots of curves and winding roads that were a boring drive in the truck or volvo, not anymore
Post a pic of your red sled, I mean RX

Looks great! Man, that Zaino really brings out the metallic in the Velocity Red... I rarely see that in photos. And you've convinced me that I want the front mud guards- it not only completes the aero look, it should help keep the sides cleaner in snow, slush and rain.

SeaRay - Toy for me as well. No rain and definitely no snow. Took delivery 10/22 and I don't even know if my windshield wipers work! Jealous of the bigger garage. I have a single car garage that doesn't allow me to work on the car at all. Great pics Thanks for sharing.

Thanks everyone!
Qhris, What, you don't like the tint? I think it makes it look cool and mysterious, plus when those young chicks pull up along side to check it out, they can't tell some old silver hair is driving it
The tint is actually pretty light on the doors, 15%, then the small windows are 20%, and back is 25%. With the black interior it still looks plenty dark. I have always tinted my cars and trucks so this was done without much hesitation.
No other mods yet except the fog light rewire inot driving lights. I most likely will put Carzoomers module in after it is out a while. I don't want to increase the sound by putting on an exhaust or intake, at least until I can see/hear one in person.
Bring on the snow! I have more Zaino for the 8, or I have 3 other vehicles that could use a polish.

Nice ride! The tint looks fine to me. How long did the Zaino take to dry in the cold weather. My blue baby is due January 3rd and I don't want to leave her 'unprotected' in the weather we get over here (England). But I'd heard that Zaino takes an age to dry in the cold. I had planned on using a regular wax until the summer. Any thoughts?

Hi Weevil,
I set up a heater in my garage and it was probably around 60 degrees. The light coats dried in 30-40 minutes, a heavier coat took about 90 minutes. I put on the mud guards and stakes inbetween 2 coats.
The Zaino kit comes with the new quicker dry stuff that speeds up the process as compared to the original. The main key is to have several large cotton towels to wipe, turn and buff with.
have fun,
Dean

Thanks for the info Dean. Over here the average garage is slightly larger than the RX8 - you can hardly get out the driver door without hitting the wall. No joke. So I think I'd better wait until the summer before Zaino'ing!
