1st off, the AT costs more than the MT, and if you have sports package on the AT it drives the same as a base MT, MT has more hp and higher rpm....

 

Not on the used car market. Typically, when I was looking around last year, an AT vs a comparable MT was priced at least $1k lower. Dealers probably have a very hard time unloading the AT's

It's mostly because of his thread title. People expect to see something more exotic than a bone-stock 04 GT AT RX-8 and some Nissan truck (with rims?).

^^^ ha ha yea this thread got nasty pretty quick, as for the posts above, its not always that AT are more expensive then MT. now before i get flamed for this please understand that i am 20 years old and had to buy my own car unlike other teens on here. after working hard for many years i finally bought my favorite car on the market, an 8, it was a VR 04 MT, however it was loaded for an AT and only had 4,000 miles on it. it was in excelent condition so i bought it. so some people do have reasons for buying an AT. dont get me wrong if i had the chance for a MT i would switch in a sec, but being 20 years old, i am not exactly rich and settling for an AT 8 was good enough for me.

yea not many people approve of the AT and if i could change it in a sec to a MT i would, but when i saw the car in mint condition with 4,000 miles on it, the only draw back was that it wasnt MT so i jumped on it. If i feel the need to make my 8 faster than most MT 8 there is always FI

i know people buy the mt for fun, but just to have a nice looking car that handles good, the at is great... you can do stuff to your lady while driving that you could not do because youd always have to shift gears which kills it.....lol
