Need pic of 8's warning cluster
Hi! This is my first post in the 8 forum. I've been a regular over at rx7club.com for the past two years, and some might recognize my handle as 'the photoshop guy.' :D
Anyway, I have a little project that I want to complete, and I need a hi-res, tight (taken at very close range) photo of the 8's dashboard warning lights (door open, fuel low, you need to comb your hair, etc.) I say this not knowing where the lights are located nor what they look like, btw. I only just sat in an 8 for the first time last weekend...
I do want this photo for a Photoshop project. No, I won't be attempting to degrade or detract from the car nor those who drive it. Quite the contrary.
Could someone post a link to such a photo, or take and post one themselves? This must be done by Sunday, and you might see the final result in the upcoming RX Tuner magazine.

Thank you!
I just need that one picture. Taken straight on with all of the warning lights lit. That, and your permission to use the picture in the magazine (should they choose to use it.) I'll share the final product before submitting it, if you'd like.
And I was mistaken - the deadline is not Sunday. It turns out that the deadline is not for a while yet.

mikeb, if you hold in the trip reset button and turn the key to ON you will get all the lights on, it's a nice show!
I'd take the picture but I'd have to clean the dash first or you will just see dust and smudge.

Yes, that's right. I can use Photoshop to change what the gauges are showing, as need be. I just need the warning lights, and I need their symbols to be clearly visible (I'm going to change one of them...)

Now I'm whoring in my own thread. :D
Just wanted to say that I'm surprised to see that Lounge posts are counted here in a user's total post count.

Thanks for the guidance.

Hey your missing the DSC and Traction control lights!
And don't say "you don't have them" I don't have the features but I have the lights!
I'll post pics of mine Sunday.

Different lights in seconds: It's Alive!
I took some shots last night. The car literally has several light modes as you get in. I like that.
I'm posting these shots separately due to their size. Pic #4 has the warning cluster.
Pic #1: At night just getting in the car. (blue casting - really cool)

Quantum, that blue shot is beautiful!
Good Duck - best shot yet. I wasn't sure if I'd be able to do anything in Photoshop about the glare in mikeb's pic. I'm pretty much a dilitante with the program. :D Hopefully, I can de-fuzz the symbols in the oil pressure gauge.
Thank you all! It turns out that the deadline is Tuesday. Not quite as much room as I'd hoped for. So if you will all excuse me, it's time to knuckle down...

Well, they're done. I wound up using Good Duck's photo, but I'd be happy to share the final product with all who posted pics.
I'd rather not post them (there are 4 versions) to the thread as it seems only proper that the mag debut them, but if each of you would PM an email address, I'll send the pics along...
Thanks again!

I had to place the camera on a tripod to steady the shot. Handholding and using flash wouldn't do. But that mean I can't sit upfront to take the pictures. The rotary hole in the seat's back came in handy as I can view the camera from the back seat. Even then, it took 8 shots just to get the exposure and timing right. Anyway, I'm glad I could help out.
