New camera/ First time taking pics.
Recently purchased a canon t3i, been reading the manuel a lot, figuring out the whole exposure, metering, aperture, iso, and etc... so i decided to practice a bit on my car, since i had nothing better to do. excuse the dirty car. Criticism welcomed, i will say this, i am looking for fatter tires to put on. just in my defense haha.

A decent first time shots. A bit overexposed. Look into buying a polarizer. It'll change your car photos dramatically.
Here's what I have. Amazon.com: B+W 77mm Circular Polarizer with Multi-Resistant Coating: Camera & Photo

As stated, a bit overexposed. Do you have photoshop or anything that allows you to manipulate the .RAW file? Pretty sure most DSLRs come with something basic to do it that lets you change values for brightness, exposure, contrast and other nifty things to make your photos come out better.
