for most of the car pics i used the 18-55mm. i used the 55-200mm for some of the closeups of the helicopters. i always like to try and use the manual focus. i mostly used the automatic exposure settings except for the night shots. for the night shots i used the shutter priority mode and played around with shutter speeds until i got it right for night pics. i didn't have my tripod so i tried holding it as still as i could resting it on something.

i really like the D40X. its not as high tech or fancy as some other models but the quality and fitment for me couldn't be matched. i love it.
