New member saying hello. Just bought a VR RX-8!
Hello all, new to the site but I've been an RX-8 fan for over a year now (that's when I drove my first one). At the time they were still pulling a crazy premium around these parts so I ended up ordering a 2006 Honda Civic Si and owned the car for roughly a year and a half. While I loved to the car to death (fantastic car!), my heart was still longing for an RX-8. Since I first saw a Velocity Red Mica RX-8 I knew I had to have one, but I always wanted one with the black/red interior and those aren't too common around here when they end up for sale. As luck would have it, a local Mazda dealership had a trade-in on a VR that they had serviced in the past and finished out all the TSB/Recalls on it and put it up for sale but never actually advertised it on any sites like Autotrader or Cars.com. Through just randomly browsing their site I saw it, and the same day I was up there. I got a great deal on it (and they offered to pay off my Civic Si) so come Thursday night I finished the deal and off I went with the RX-8 I had wanted for over a year!
Here is my Si when I owned it:

(Plenty of flake!)
Since taking these pictures the car has received quite a bit of love from Meguiars so the swirls are gone. I took Mothers mag/aluminum polish to the tips (which you can see are filthy) and 30-40 minutes later they look brand new as well! I've also taken the Rob Sight decal off.
Right now plans are to just get some clear corners and have it tinted. From there I'd like to build up some savings account and then get to work with some sway-bars, and an intake/exhaust combo.
I'll miss the Si, but I now have the car I wanted for a while so I could not be happier.
Anyways, just thought I'd say hello and give a little background!

welcome. i love the black/red interior.
if i ever get a black 8 itll be black and red interior
with 19" black avarus av3 rims =P (would go with piaa super rozzas but DAM thats expensive)
