BTW

Kelli: as for contacts - be sure to take a look at some of the vendor's spots on the board - you can find a lot of good deals on stuff instead of paying full price some where else...

HONESTLY youve find the RIGHT WEBSITE for ALL the info NEEDED...what suprises me is that people dont use this sight and think they know ALL....ive met people on myspace that dont bother coming on here and say that theyve done this and that with thier cars, and boughten ebay chips and what not bullshit...get in touch with your locals and meet up... free info is the best info, and shared info is GREAT info...

One thing I was concerned with is that there is a lot of debate on which oil to use, some say that 5w-20 is way too thin to protect the engine.

My friend has an RX7 and recommends 5w-40 or something crazy?

well his car is ~10 years old...you can NEVER go wrong with what your owner manual says (5w-20)...others are also gonna say that synthetics > conventional...others swear that Royal Purple is God, other say its just plain EVIL...what ever floats your boat, just do research...

i use 5w-30 castrol GTX...

i use Royal Purple (synthetic) 10w-30

a little heavier but definately worth it during those hot summers - our cars run hot naturally so i go for the gusto -

now the choice between synthetic and conventional oil is yours - I'm definately not gonna open that discussion

5w40 is a good recommendation (and what I use ). Basically the owners manual says 5w-20 but most people "in the know " don't use anything less than 5w-30 .

There is a million page thread on just this subject ...
