New Temporary Shift **** Pictures

Some of you know I got my Shift **** stolen last weekend. I got a temporary one to use until I can get a replacement. I thought I would show some pics. of it. I think it matches the interior as it is piano finish black with an aluminum ring around it just like the shift boot below it. What do you think?

Looks quite good. The rotary shift **** has been widely criticized as being uncomfortable. You may be better off.

I prefer the stock rotary ****. Never liked the spherical type. Reminds me of the VW Golf *****. I hated those.

Yes it does, just like it shows in my avatar. PM me and I'll let you know how to get one or go to to do it yourself: https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...threadid=21092

The weight feels good. It's solid and the aluminum ring adds to it. It's a bit cold feeling at first but warms up nicely.

The chrome skull....I thought about it, almost went with it but my wife gave me something to think about. I may be stuck with this for some time and do I really want to drive around with some "ricey" schift ****? (remember, the "ricey" comment is not intended to be racially misconstrued) :D

Time to hop on E-bay and get a new "stock" shift **** for cheap, as that one doesn't look good or right in the 8 IMO.

Remeber, this is a temporary **** and I have been tracking them on e bay but the ones are selling well into the $50 range and this one guy is buying all of them. Why would one person ant to corner the market on RX-8 shift *****? I looked into his past buying habits and they are for a third generation RX-7.

I hate people who do not know how to work ebay and cause bidding wars...unless of course I am the seller.

Also, I may get it replaced by Mazda. There is no promise it will happen but I am hoping it does.

The question I have is this: Does it weigh too much? check this out... (and yes, I know it's for BMW's, but it might apply to us 8 owners too...)

D MENAC 7 - does that shifter play the 5 note Close Encounters riff? Do you have the urge to build a mountain in your living room?

That RX-8 brake light product is really nice.

That's pretty interesting especially considering our cars having a spring-loaded stick. You have to push down to get it in reverse. That would suck driving 80 MPH and shifting from 5th into Reverse! (If it would even let you.)

Believe me you, there were a few interesting ones I passed up such as the EL lit ones or the clear plastic ones that changed colors and, of course, the skull with red LED eyes. THat one reminded me of "The Terminator"...I'll be back.

I've got a lighted shift **** coming in within the next couple of weeks for my 8. I'd probably be willing to sell my original.

I have the Momo Shift **** in this pic (Black/Alum) ....the one all the way to the right. The black fabric on the **** is actually almost an exact match to the cloth materieal in the car.
