new wHip (Scooby content)

As some of you know I have sold my rx8 a few months ago, I have since aquired a new car and already began working on it. It's 2001 Blue Ridge Pearl Impreza 2.5RS coupe with a Version 7 JDM STi swap (w/ factory forged internals). This car is a lot of fun and is very fast, the 8k rpm redline is still there, so I don't feel too much out of place. But I do have to say that I miss the 8, we had a really nice journey together, and I learned a lot with that car, but I guess all good things eventually come to an end, and we move on to new and hopefully better things and experiences. I am still getting used to the car, it's really a completely different beast, but we are bonding and it's really growing on me.

Enjoy! And please don't hate too much.

Specs:

ENGINE:

V7 JDM STi ej207 longblock

WHEELS:

The wing and the overdone spoiler are a bit too much for me. Good luck.

This is a dream car of mine. Best lookin' Impreza they made IMO. I'm terribly jealous right now. That thing will be virtually indestructible, does it just have the stock turbo on it right now? What are your plans for it?

Yes it has the stock vf30 turbo for now. But I have big plans and many projects in mind for this car, I know it's going to be a big money pit, so I've got to pace my self

But in the near future I will be upgrading the turbo for an 18g + getting it tuned, also swapping the dash from a newer gen STi, and getting a short shifter. Also few little exterior details will soon change.

Other things in mind are an STi quick steering rack, and Bilstein PSS9 coil overs (but this is still up in the air, not really sure if I want to go that route or just stay with the AGX and maybe get different springs, some Prodrives if I can get my hands on them). Otherwise there are little bits and pieces that I will be changing around and taking care of as a go.

Yea sure the wing is big, but it's an OEM part, this is the way the car came in Japan, it's not trying to be something else by slapping on a huge wing, it's true Subaru and although it is big I find it flows well with the car.

But I do have to say that it does attract a lot of attention, all of a sudden all these minivans are trying to race me, or cut me off

I would not say the wing is huge which to me is the GT style wings.

BTW love the car!

Nice, I hear the prodrive springs are very hard to find, but they are made by eibach so those could be a good substitute. May I suggest a grimspeed uppipe and a 44 mm external waste gate to go with the new turbo. The gains I have seen on my buddies versus guys with the same set up except an internal gate are awesome. Better boost control and it hold strong all the way through the rpm band.

Very nice.

Yea P1 springs are discontinued and super hard to come by, especially since Prodrive US have closed down, although made by Eibach the rates are different from the Eibach pro kit.

As for the EWG it's definately in the plans, but it will depend on what sort of deal I can find on the turbo, still need to discuss with my tuner whether I need to go with 44mm or 38mm. Seeing as how I don't want to run very high boost, the 44mm will most likely be more suitable for my application, but it's quite a bit more expensive...

lol man I was dead serious about it, this car has been a dream of mine for many years, otherwise I would never have sold the 8 in the first place

But yea give me a shout, we'll go for a drive!

Right now I am putting down 301.7 at the crank, untuned with the stock turbo running about 16psi of boost.

This block has a lot of potential to make big power safely, with the forged internals adding to the reliability factor. I am still considering and researching different options though, so we'll have to wait and see...
