Not My RX-8 (not dialup friendly)
Wow! The RX-8 looks awesome! Rotary...hmm.... :D
My dealer called yesterday. Two RX-8s just got unloaded; silver and titanium. Both were pre-ordered and neither one is mine. Despite having placed the pre-order back in Jan.10, my red sport is on the second shipment. I was thoroughly pissed. But that was quickly replaced by a stupid grin on my face once I saw the RX-8s. I was ecstatic to finally see and touch one in person.
When I got to the dealership around 6pm, they were detailing the silver one. The titanium stills got all its wrappers. The car is a little smaller than I had thought, which is good since I love small car. From the inside, visibility is good up front. The hood falls away from view, leaving only the two wheel arches to mark the corners. Perfect! The back view is high because slightly kick up tail end. Its beltline are about mid shoulder. So thankfully, it doesn't have that sitting-in-the-bathtub of the 350Z.
The driver power seat in the GT package allows for fine adjustments. So finding a comfortable driving position was no problem. I hope my cloth version can be just as accommodating. The back seat was not as claustrophobic as I had imagined, but it's certainly is cozy. Getting in and out of it is much easier than to my Civic coupe.
I spent the rest of the time walking around both cars and just admiring their gorgeous lines. I don't think their owners will mind. From pictures, the titanium looks really good. But in person, the silver looks even better. The contrast between its bright appearance and black lines is really something. Almost make me think twice about my red. Maybe because it was late (6pm), but the silver really stood out against the titanium. This was a surprise to me.
Anyway, another surprise came when I learned that the owner of the silver was a fellow forum member: adamp316. I actually had converse with him online before, so it was a pleasant treat to finally meet him. I didn't have chance to take a pic of Adam next to his new baby as he was busy with paperworks. So I ask one the salesman to take one of me next to it. It's mine! :D
So now, I am that much more endear with the RX-8 styling and it just makes the wait that much more torturing.

I was real glad to see that your dealer wrote on the windsheild "Do Not Drive - Sold" on the titanium. I hope my dealer does the same.
Titanium is far better IMHO.But I even think RED is the best, but not for me.

Well, not to make your wait any more painful than it already is, but if you ordered red, you will be VERY happy with it, trust me. There were 3 RX-8s at NAIAS - titanium, black, and red. The red was by far the prettiest and most jaw-dropping color of the three. It just fit the shape of the car best IMO.

I have always felt that the SILVER is the MOST negleted color on RX8
but I believe its gorgeous. The color is stunning in a classic way and
also matches the stock wheels color so well. Way to go!

It took me an absolute age to decide on the colour of my pre-order as all of the colours look so good.
I decided on Black as it was understated and chic.
(Although red does look very good indeed)

I saw silver for the first time today at my dealership. It is stunning. It was parked to the side of a row of 15+ Mazda6s at the back of the dealership. I watched about 5 groups of customers come out of the door to look at a 6 and just stare goggle-eyed at this car. I haven't seen a red RX-8 since the Rev-It-Up event 3 months ago - I have forgotten what it looks like in the metal, vaguely remember it was good...

Nice pics! It looks like you have a great digital camera. I recently picked up a Nikon Coolpix 3100 - small, but takes nice pictures. I was dissapointed that I couldn't sit in an 8 at the SD International Auto Show this past Spring, but since my brother-in-law works at a Mazda dealership and I'm going to visit that end of the country soon, I MAY get a test-drive.
...keeping my fingers crossed.......
