Orange County NY's name is derived from its Dutch immigration heritage - Queen of Holland from the House of Orange at the time.

Orange County CA is simply named after an orange crop.

 

The man with the knowledge. Funny thing is, I lived in Orange County, CA. many years back.

As did I (latter 70's, with a Celica GT Liftback). I left MCAS El Toro just as they were tearing down all the orange groves for tract housing - sad!

I've also lived in OC, NY (did some work for IBM in the mid 80's).

I love both OC's.

 

That's too funny. Oh, and my backyard was an orange grove, though we did not own it. I'd have fresh oranges all the time.

Back to OCC, I added more photos from the Shop Tour.

 

No more oranges and no more Toyota sportscars (Lexus doesn't count). Oh well, progress?

That was hilarious when he snapped the CF wing then duct taped it back together. Looks like you did not move much from the Miata area.
